I was at the house show that Batista got hurt at. The move that hurt him was one where Batista was hung on the middle rope and then Mark went through the top and middle rope to the outside. The momentum of the match definitely changed after that point. This was in Verona, NY. And I personally believe is part of the reason why WWE hasn't been back to that location since.

They never did really get a blowoff match between Batista and Mark Henry did they? After Batista came back from injury, Henry got injured himself and Batista had to face Mr. Kennedy at the Great American Bash instead. By the time Henry got back, the feud was pretty much forgotten.

I was thinking about Naomi who got hurt on the Road to Wrestlemania 33 in the match that she won the SD Women's Championship. She probably didn't make this list because she returned in time to compete at WM 33 but won back the title as well. Then there's Rick Boogs who got injured AT Wrestlemania last year. That was heartbreaking.

I believe the intended match was Batista vs Eddie Guerrero. Eddie, fresh from his feud with Mysterio (Who's your papi?) was hovering around Batista, seemingly having turned face. Perhaps what we got years later between Batista and Rey is reflective of how that would have played out. Obviously, neither man made it to Wrestlemania.

Apparently Randy Orton was going to be the plan for Wrestlemania after Eddie sadly passed, because the two never really got that big, post Evolution angle. Which implies either Triple H or Randy Orton would have won the 2006 Royal Rumble if it wasn't for the Batista injury. Crazy how the Rey Mysterio storyline that milked the death of Eddie Guerrero doesn't seem to have been intended to come anywhere near the world title scene, but sort of went that way. Also weird we got scary heel Gunther breaking Rey's record for lasting the longest in a Rumble when WWE are still on good terms with him. Usually they reserve breaking records for when they're bitter at the original holder!

The older people become, slang terms tend to fade away from common usage with young people & new slang is eventually introduced, while older people who don't keep up with young people either through their children or through a quick online search of modern slang definitions will be left out of the loop. I think slang is just like life & a kaleidoscope. Constantly changing. The only one missing IMO is Wade Barrett, I don't remember what year it was, but if I remember correctly, he got hurt catching someone in a Battle Royal on the outside and broke his arm and had to miss Mania, and at the time it was HEAVILY rumored he was gonna win MITB.
