People hating on predictable because they wanna shock debut, but would also complain if AEW sign someone new. Also, people HATED that Cody didnt get the predictable win at Wrestlemania 39 and dragging out The Bloodline. They HAD to get the belt off of MJF if he is entering free agency. And if he resigns, him vs Cole as legit Face and Heels would be amazing. Im excited for 2024. Happy New Year all

The obvious, predictable choice, but the best one. Tony would have been funny for the meme, but they already made the joke about Vince being the Greater Power with Brodie Lee, so to see them repeat it in a proper angle would seem hypocritical. Jack Perry would have just been dumb and underwhelming. The only choice I could see having been better than Cole, would have been CM Punk (in a scenario where he & AEW had settled any backstage issues, and/or been working us for a while). Otherwise, it had to be Cole. Maybe the mystery went on for too long, and they should have placed these events closer together, but the reality is they needed a way to keep Adam Cole in the main event scene after getting injured again, and this angle achieved that.

On AEWs official website, every promotion poster for upcoming events no longer contains MJF. This was before the ppv, why would you remove your champion from your advertisement?

I'm not gonna lie, a lot of people are acting like now that MJF has dropped the belt and Adam Cole and Co have been revealed as the devil and his goons, that MJF is gonna be in the rumble but there's a few issues with that. One of which is that MJF is legit injured, and the other being that this could be genius. Take MJF off screen for a while since he's gonna need to recover from his injuries, and people will begin to speculate that he's in the rumble - which he probably won't be even if he'd signed with WWE due to the injury. Then keep him off-screen till after Wrestlemania. Have people think he's gonna be a surprise Raw after Wrestlemania debut, but have him return to AEW at Double or Nothing in the casino ladder match and have him win (unless, by this point, Joe, Adam or any of the other members of the Devil's group aren't champ, in which case just build to Cole/MJF at the PPV that comes after DoN)

my first proper viewing of an aew ppv and i have to say that the main event was a total flop imo, the match was slow and boring(i dont really care about "storytelling" in matches, prefer hard hitting type shi) and then the devil reveal was absolutely abysmal, other than wardlow everyone in that stable is terrible
