My first Terrence Hill movie was "They call me Trinity". It was 1971 and I was in the US Navy stationed in Londonderry Northern Ireland and we had a small 50 seat movie theater on base. This movie was the hokiest movie ever but funny in its own way. That was the only movie we had on base for about 3 weeks so needless to say everyone knew most of the dialogue by heart from watching it so many times. I still recall one scene where the horse that Terrence arrived on was caked with dirt in one shot then clean in the next. I was 18 at the time and I just now realized that's my first movie blooper ever.

I saw it on base in 71 also in exmouth Western Australia naval communication Station Harold E Holt I was 10 years old. I bagged grocery at the commissary , gas on base was .10 cents a gallon . LP records were 1.50 each. Free movies they had a pool, bowling alley, library, baseball field, a bus that would run every hour from the base through the town back to the base a big Pier they use in ww2 to fuel subs turn in to a fishin pier best fishin ever. Also my mom and dad could get a whole grocery cart full over the top for 45 bucks. Those were the days.

@@billywayne902 On base in Derry were vending machines for soft drinks & beer (I didn't drink). The cans were 100% steel and no pop tops so most of the drinkers carried a "church key" aka can opener. Cigarettes were 25 cents a pack (I didn't smoke either). It definitely was a different way of life then. My just married wife was saving Mac & Cheese box tops (purchased in the Exchange) for an offer of a set of cooking pots. I looked closer at the details and discovered the offer had expired 2 years earlier. Needless to say we didn't always get the first choice of products sent from the states.

It's movies like this that make me shake my head. Not because I dislike them I loved these flix. I just can not believe it was 40+ years ago, I remember watching this on HBO early 80's. I always wondered what happened to Terence Hill, he just kind of faded away. If I remember right Terence was from Europe, Italy I believe but you never would have guessed that watching him on screen. Speaking of HBO, I remember when it first launched on cable it was like a whole different world. All the networks would sign off the air at midnight but when cable came to town you lost track of time. Everybody was late for school back then. lol

But VPRO ('left winged' radio & tv programs, from humor to cult music, artists, writers) showed great humor and progressive programs every sunday evening. And on the German channels there were great movies, but they were synchronised from the English language to German language with the SAME two exaggerated voices for EVERY classic American, English, French, or Italian movie for 20 to 30 years(!!!) 😆😝I'm so very glad with the internet, KZbin, and NetFlix, now I can see everything I want, and in the right language with Dutch subs.
