Glad to see that the boomer shooter trend is continuing at a good pace. And crunchy feels like the right word for this one, since the weapon impacts - even from the regular pistol and the hatcher - come across as really impactful and devastating, plus the headshots feel about as satisfying as the ones in Resident Evil 4. Also, I like how our character ostensibly came here to investigate the disappearences and murders, then just went 'fuck it' and decided to slaughter anyone that looked at him funny.

I like how the notes explaining lore aren't just someone noticing shit and writing it down on a diary, but believable things people would write each other, like a worker telling another they are leaving not because of bad blood or another writing a letter to their mother telling her they are returning home and the current situation

This game is awesome! I actually played it thanks to you, ABG. This game has such a great vibe, and is just as great as all those games that inspired it. It feels so crunchy, and the time slowing down when changing weapons is great. Every kill feels good and the environments are pretty spooky at times. Absolutely recommend this game.

CULTIC borrowed a lot of elements from BLOOD: dynamite with a lighter, retro style, only with muted colors and cultists in robes - unambiguous hints that the developers drew inspiration from this game. Even the tie, like in BLOOD - the main character of CULTIC also resurrects, waking up among a pit of corpses.

Yeah it's awesome! I actually really like Scorn too though. It's priced way too high as its pretty short ($19.99 would be better) and I can see people being very disappointed if they were looking for a FPS experience (Scorn's much more of a slow-paced survival horror game with a heavy focus on puzzles). That said, it's one of my favorite games I've played this year. I'm a sucker for Giger, the visuals are jaw-dropping and it really immerses you in its freaky biomechanical world. I totally understand why people are hating on it, but as an experience there's nothing like it. I really hope they make more stuff in that world.

As much as this tries to be Blood, it unfortunately falls short. To me it looks like the dev doesn't really understand what makes Blood good. Brutally placed, unforgiving hitscan enemies and slick movement and gunplay is what makes Blood legendary. Cultic doesnt have those things. Crudox cruo!!

Most retro style FPS are boring as fuck and clearly made for the knuckle draggers who get filtered by games like duke 3D on the highest difficulty mode. But cultic here is the rare actually good one we get which is nice and I'm glad the dev didn't settle for actually just making yet another garbo doom clone
