All of these are such great herbs! I also enjoy rosemary, sage, the anise Hyssops, bee balm, and cat mint! For those who like the taste of green tea, Wood Betony leaves have been used as a caffeine-free substitute (a cousin of Lambs Ears!) Fun factlet from a recent Charles Downing video, on his new herb garden at Homeacres - bees and other pollinators use pants in the mint family - mints, thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano and others - for their own medicine!! So growing a variety of herbs helps keep our pollinator healthy! I live in Oregon, so one of my favorite sources for bulk herbs, essential oils, etc is Mountain Rose, founded by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar! Lots of special herbs like Chaparral that are harder to come by, and ethnically harvested!

Whereas I usually find mint tea not quite to my taste - I found one type of mint plant that is just wonderful. 'Korean Liquorice Mint' has a warm, satisfying, 'full' taste that I really don't get from most herbals in general. I grew mine from seed I bought earlier this year (from a UK merchant. I'm sure someone will be selling it in America). It doesn't grow superfast in my wet Northern climate, but it did produce enough to use by late summer and has a lovely bright purple flower to boot.

Too cold for Chamomile!?! it becomes just shy of a weed in Newfoundland Canada! I've had Dandelion flower tea. it was nice. I like the dandelion leaf greens (just remove the center rib) Currently I grow: Chamomile Lemon Balm Thyme Raspberry Echinacea Chamomile Lavender I'm trying to grow ginger. I have to find the place to put it for the right atmosphere. Nettle, clover and dandelion are wild Mint and fennel were already on my radar. I used to have bronze fennel. That's delicious! When I tried to grow it again, I wasn't successful. Now I will look into growing turmeric and Verbena.

Ginger root tumeric root and blackberry as an infusion is a lovely flavor and elderberry syrup is a beautiful sweetner for it its good hot or cold in my opinion

Okay I just noticed last a flower at the bottom of my plum tree it's yellow pedals with red tipped centers and and just yesterday found a flower with same leaves cone flower but it has purple star bells. Will dry some of the flowers and leaves before it dies back. And in my garden a bright yellow flower I thought it might be wild mustard but not sure.

I made some dandelion tea by boiling fresh flowers and letting them steep overnight, but it tasted like grass and I didn't like it at all. Did I perhaps do it wrong? I would like to try again and try to ake something that is actually palatable...

So glad i found this video can't wait to check out your other videos. I have loved foraging for years&my passion is herbal remedies. I love edible flowers&want to grow all the herbs possible for tea. I have been working on getting better at making soap&salves. And now have found my true passion is growing, harvesting, drying, storing&preparing all the herbs i can for tea. I love making bath teas as well but it's truly something special to create & craft& share& gift tea to drink- it's very healing& gets me through the winter. I am passing the practice&knowledge of plants onto my little ones & they also enjoy the whole process. We love making &enjoying all things possible with the wonderful herbs like lavender lemonade too. I am really wanting to learn more&get more plants for tea but for now my favorite to grow & utilize is bee balm it gets us through all the ailments as well as hyssop esp. For the littles. We grew tons of chamomile&lavender &still have some left to enjoy. Always rosemary, thyme, marjoram, oregano,& rose, & horsetail we have on stock. Lemon balm is another favorite & go to for my anxiety. I utilize the cat mint, spearmint, & calendula, and chasteberry! Also i grow yerba mansa as a house plant so you gave me the idea to try to grow other herbs indoors like ginger! I just found 3 varieties of agastache at a nursery & planted them they taste amazing so can not wait for spring. I need to utilize our blackberry leaves&raspberry leaves too i have a tiny bit but not much. Also red bud&all the edible blooms. Borage is coming back. We grew a too of basil's so still have some on stock except for Tulsi we went through that. I'm sure there's more I'm missing but i want to go check out your other videos. Thank you!

I grow thornless black berry so much easier too deal with then thorn BlackBerry cause I'm allergic too the thorns. I started with plant and now have one area filled. And can you use elderberry leaves too for teas. I haven't heard anyone talking about it.

Does it mater what time of year you harvest raspberry leaves? My wife is a tea drinker and we are trying a bunch of stuff from our yard. Don't do peach tree leaves! Nasty haha. Wife said she saw someone use it so we tried it bad idea. I just dehydrated 4 qt of chamomile that one is good my wife loves it. We have raspberry plants also but they are to new to cut leaves yet.

You can harvest them anytime, but the best is in spring when the leaves are young. 🌱

I LOVE the flavor of dandelion root tea, but...I'm allergic to ragweed, and apparently the dandelion root is related. I always break out in hives. I'm sorry to say it took me WAY too long to realize the connection. Sad face right here.
