Okay I’ve been thinking about this- could y’all do an episode on the ocean? Specifically like currents and waves and how they work and why they’re here I think the ocean is so cool and can’t think of anyone better to hear talk about it

When you were discussing the situation of how we acquire esteem, through basically flexing, and how at that point in life it requires you to basically isolate yourself, and the idea the thought that "Hey, I did this all by myself!" , is not only capitalistic(look at how much work you have to do and all of that purchasing you have to do), but also very symptomatic of our intense American individualism. Which is also one of the reasons for the rejection of a lot of left wing ideals. Also, the living situation you mention towards the end of the video sounds a lot like whats called co-housing.

I think we need to recognize that we as humans are still animals, and in the animal kingdom almost all packs have a leader. Someone taking a leadership role is necessary for a group to be effective. Democracy works well because we still elect singular leaders to a position, but we do so collectively for a given time period. We in essence give up our power to a singular person or entity for x amount of time with the understanding that if they don't perform up to the majorities expectations, a new leader will be chosen.
