This is the most descriptive, raw, and well thought out explanation of cultural appropriation. Thank you for enlightening everyone.

brilliant. i have tried 1000 times to tell my white woman friends to STOP appropriating and making $ from native spirituality but they are still clueless.

Okay, I am 14 minutes in and there is a lot of racism mixed into this. "What makes the red man red" etc. has nothing to do with "cultural appropriation" so why is in there? Next to a Tipi for a cat. Like it was in anyway comparable. Thinking culture is something that can be owned is blatantly stupid. I do not know whether I can even continue watchnig this.

I think it is to understand the whole idea and things that tie around that and to clear up confusion in the all around idea of cultural appropriation

Why do she make the conclusion in the study she talks about that white peoples self esteem is boosted my white supremacy when looking at Pocahontas.. I feel like showing someone an image of a familiar cartoon would bring a lot of emotions for different reasons.

The “science” she sites is interesting but seems not very comprehensive and maybe with some flaws

6:30 Why do you need two women to introduce one lecturer? I seriously hope this is the start of the lecture and not just the introduction of another speaker.

Cultural Appropriation actually enhance awareness of the culture not hinders it.

Not when there are more effective ways of enhancing sub cultural awareness... like documentaries for example or appreciating the actual marginalized people for their creative culture instead of taking their culture and claiming it as your own for profit or what ever reason that doesn't benefit the originator.
