I know.....it is difficult to cover every part of India...cuz it is just so vibrant vast and diverse ....... Some of the states just don't get mentioned....and the one who get mentioned are filled with some stereotypes....... Like for eg, my state Uttar Pradesh. . It is the most populated state in India ..more than 10% of India's population resides in just this single State .....so how can you just sum up this vast land into Kathak.....which is just a classical dance form and is predominantly done in Benaras and Lucknow.....

It’s a shame that people who choreographed this performance did not even have the complete knowledge of the dances of India. The ladies performing the Classical number were actually Kuchipudi dancers ( a dance from Andhra Pradesh) while the State shown in the back ground was Tamil Nadu. Western India does not only means Gujarat or Garba dance. In fact Rajasthan itself has numerous folk dances because of the existence of gypsies. East India has 7 states in the north east alone along with Orissa and West Bengal so how can a Manipuri dance represent the whole of it. Addition to that the Manipuri dancers were performing steps of Lai Haroba- a folk dance of Manipur while they tried to imitate the costume of Classical Manipuri Nritya. Yakshagana is a old traditional dance from Uttara and Udupi , Karnataka but even here they could not justify the choreography as well as the costume. If we as Indians do not our culture and tradition well then we should not showcase it to any other nation or nationality and become an item of laughter. I am sorry but this was extremely shameful!

I'm Manipuri and I'm watching this Manipuri culture dance for first time and the steps they're doing are not lai haraoba and even the dress have no connection with our culture it seems like they just pick it up from some gully shops. Manipur traditional dance is khamba thoibi jagoi not rass Lila but I love rass Lila because the step (mudras) is copied from khamba thoibi jagoi and the dress they were wearing is different from the actual one
