I am from New York and I have traveled to SA about 15 times mainly Durban and the surrounding areas and Cape Town. In July I will visit Gqeberha (formally known as Port Elizabeth. In all of my visits I cannot recall seeing public urination in SA. I do not believe that I am so oblivious to that behavior, meaning I see it but don't see it. Growing up in New York you would not see working class boys and men urinating in public, but you might see the homeless or the destitute participate in this activity. Of course now I will probably see it when I next visit in July. As for the panhandling techniques you described...this was the main M.O. in New York City back in the '80s. There were certain intersections that you would not stop just behind the car in front of you. This way when the panhandlers approached your car with their concoction, you could move up a little, and little more making it difficult for them. But the got smart and would spray your windshield with some sticky goo that your windshield wiper fluid and wipers would only make worse...then you had to have them clean it off. In other words...that technique is not new. With all that being said, I am looking to retire and spend a few of my retirement years in SA. I will reach out for insight.

Public urination is one of apartheid legacies. I think that's why arresting or finning people is not a priority because people in authority know the history. Black people were denied toilets in most business areas/ towns thus left with no option when nature calls. Even myself as a black female I recall a personal history of being denied the use of toilet facilities sometimes😰.

Started a few years ago. Really made a huge difference. An ID/passport/ driver's license are too serious to allow an employee at an office level to just press print on a machine. A driver's license does not prove your identity in SA. It is useless if you are not driving. In the US, you guys I believe do not have a federal issued ID document. You use other documents to identify people. Here, only that gov card can tell who you are which every place will ask for it. So home affairs is too busy in processing every citizen including the international community.

na bru... we love our dogs but na bro they dusty they have a animal scent and hair and dirt we'll make a plan for our dogs if theyre sick or scared. but animals carry bacferia and insects sometimes and dirt that we dont need in the house. but we dont really have snow and extreme whether conditions so that another reason they stay outside
@Ke_Nna_Tiana9 ай бұрын
Heyy Edwin! Thanks for sharing. I think all the insects and bacteria come from being outside though. When people have indoor pets they also have a regular grooming schedule for staying clean. So I believe it’s just a case of different strokes for different folks as they say 😆

@elizabethletshwiti15036 ай бұрын
It's so illegal. Those that do it in public say, it's their right and that we live in a democratic country. That's abuse of rights and irresponsible. Am a senior citizen and I know what I am talking about. Can that stop already because it is disgusting indeed. Shalom.

I got mine at the bank ,I went once , I had to go and collect in 2 days. Our SA database unlike the US we have a centralized system in the US they struggle yo trace criminals who move to another state. Our technology is safer. She was not born I SA her ID has to be protected from ID theft especially because the US uses legacy system, they still use cheaque which we buried 10 years ago. If she was to apply for an ID in a different state in the US to the one she was born in it would probably take ages.

One thing I can commend you on, is that you're trying shem on the local languages and that's cute & commendable. Public urination in SA 🇿🇦 is illegal & public indecency but thats the least of our challenges. But on the other rants, drop the attitude & snobbing girl. America 🇺🇸 has brainwashed many of you in the main, live life for once without being too serious & uptight. Last one, "you have nice life problems shem", that's why you rant about small things...

On point 👌🏾 One thing I noticed about KZbinrs African Americans in SA is that they have sadly adopted the Karen attitudes of complaining about everything. Sometimes I watch and think, are they toddlers? Like! Why are they always complaining 😂🤣🤣 They must grow out of the toddler (Karen) phase quick quick.
