I THOUGHT it sounded a bit different too! His 1980's voice "hooked" me, again, a couple months ago, just like it did the first time I heard him sing in 1983. I've really TRIED to like his current deep 2020's voice but honestly, I don't like it as well. But, he still sounds GOOD in this performance.

This is when it was discovered by his dr's that he had polyps on his vocal cords and shortly after this went in to have them removed resulting in his voice now,a much deeper,raspier voice
