DMX was so unique in how he kept it so real, and rapped about a lot of the same crime, drugs and brutality that most rappers do, but it never felt glorified. X came across as a poet expressing his brutal truth and not trying in any way to make it sound “cool”. Just poetic and expressive. As far as I’m concerned he’s a certified hip hop GOAT and it’s not even an argument. The man had an untouchable run from 98-2005 with music, movies and above all else, keeping it fkn real. He was so real. The intro to his first album is literally what I’d show an alien if they asked me what rap music was.

I admired DMX music, and creativity. I even liked his style. But he was still a junkie. I say this because in the street, a junkie either dies from the substances that they are addicted to, or they get killed by retaliation from doing something probably motivated by the thought of getting enough money to feed their drug habit. Why am I bringing this up? Well I learned by close observation that being a junkie, rather a drunken crackhead in the street, or a drunken crackhead in the Hollywood spotlight, they both are going to receive the same fate. When a drug addict from the street steals from a drug dealer, the drug dealer normally becomes the one with the respected resources, that'll get that drug addict f***** up or killed. This same scenario transitions over in the Hollywood realm. If a drug addict is in the Hollywood realm, and if he pisses off the higher ups in Hollywood, the respected resources of those Hollywood executives, will also move in ways that are similar to how the drug dealer's resources moved. The junkie will always see the same fate, versus how the drug dealer's fate is normally sealed. This is why drug kinpins are considered legends, and are still talked about when they are gone. And they continue to make movies and documentaries on how they lives were. You never really see a glorified story about an infamous crackhead, unless that person once did something great or extraordinary. The fate of that person normally kicks in after the addiction of that person kicks in, start taking over, and then leading them to their downfall. I always wondered why our Hollywood artists, ended up how they do. And it's because GOD doesn't like junkies. And it is written that a drunken will never enter into the kingdom of GOD. And his works will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. God is using drugs, the same way man uses chemicals and weed killers, to kill the weeds in their yards, and gardend. The drug dealer is being used to distribute this weed killer to those that idolize being weed heads. Addiction is a form of worship, and God is jealous that his creation is idolizing something that they pay attention to more than they pay attention to him. Addiction doesn't stop at drugs tho, this can go for anything. Whatever it is that you idolize more than God, that is what's going to be used to equate you to your judgement/fate. So if a man idolizes money, like these drug dealers and executives of big companies normally do, then God is going to use money to lead them to their judgement. The only difference is, it's hard for a drug dealer to idolize money, more than a drug addict idolizes drugs. A rich man can go to jail and be broke inside of jail with no withdrawals. But can a heroin and crack addict do this with no withdrawals?? But If a heroin addict doesn't get his drugs in time, he'll have withdrawals that could lead him to a stroke or seizure's if he doesn't get the proper help in time. So I believe GOD favors the hustler in man, not the one that has a lack of faith and ambition to overcome something. Jay-z's strong will and ambition lead him to where he is at in life today. And DMX although may seem to have had a strong faith in God, he never did the work to overcome his demons. Which is an example of all faith without works is dead ...
