@@adoroselatte There's also the fact that some of these figure creators are fans themselves and the designs/illustrations are either been "committee'd" to hell and back or the disigners/illustrators wanted to do a big splash so they went the extra mile for being part of a big otaku franchise. Thus, the audience of these big otaku franchises probably has the money to spend so they can at least justify the higher production cost. In the case of Type-Moon fans, these people are old enough so some have disposable income now. Which is why remakes, revivals, new figures of old series, new entry of franchises happens. Or more expensive figures only comes out way later after an anime airs. So companies can cash on nostalgia and Type-Moon is ripe for it especially when new fans are being introduced as well to keep it going.

I just recently picked up the Illustrious figure since she's on sale right now for less than $90 from AmiAmi...this video helped in that decision, however I got to say I was a bit worried with the pale skin tones you mentioned but fortunately the figure i received didn't seem to have that problem, the skin tone pretty much matches what is pictured online and on the box. An added bonus is that you can safely remove her dress if you wanted to display her in just her lingerie. By far the best Illustrious figure out right now and currently at less than $90 + shipping you can't go wrong.

I don't collect cultured figures myself, but that Taihou one did inspire me to maybe not shy away from getting something that shows off a good, 'anime extra' body sculpt. Looking maybe into a cheap bunny figure, either the 1/7 Scathach or Rosuuri's White Rabbit one since it's cheaper (though, the Scathach one is the same price right now, probably due to FREEing's rerelease). I feel like it's better to wait on Azur Lane figures, seems a bunch of these just plummeted in price. I just saw photos of the Jean Bart kimono one this morning, and while MFC is saying the price is a... "low"... 22k yen for a kimono figure with a full base, I may lump it into another preorder down the line if it drops as well. And I'm seeing other Azur Lane ones on AmiAmi just plummeting in price. Although that price surprises me. 22k for an exquisitely dressed figure, with a designed base with a back wall, and I'm paying 24k+ for Blue Archive's Wakamo because it's a fox girl just kind of standing there. Hell, I found lightly-armed Amagi for more, and it's just her standing with an umbrella with some water effects on a plain black base (and squishy boobs, I guess...). Update: Nevermind, that was MFC at the time. It's 30k yen now. And looking at AmiAmi for the other Jean Bart I don't think it'll drop much after it comes out. Even if I don't play Azur Lane, I do admit some of those figures are quite beautiful. I just collect ones I like the look of and fit my collection, don't really care where they're from (and fox girls always go straight to the top of the want list).

Spectacular showcase! I have all three incoming as well. Azuma looks incredible. Taihou is one of my most anticipated figures of the year, and she turned out amazingly. What a showstopper. Also, love the clean rhythm of your intro! Unboxing to the beat.

I feel you on the skin tone for Illustrious. It I managed to get her from AmiAmi for the 19k sale price. You can also display her without the bottom portion of her dress… And my Taihou Race Queen is probably my favorite they’ve released so far.

I have that illustrious figure and I think it’s very classy looking for her. Backside is magnificent. Black oval is meh but I actually appreciate the small base compared to some of those mega bases that are out there. (We sufferin for space in this room). I didn’t go for Taihou or Azuma. Taihou being a 1/4 sack I just couldn’t pull the trigger on because of size and the pose I wasn’t a fan of even though I like her lots. Azuma looks great in just wasn’t a big fan of her in the game, but perhaps I’ll see if she goes down later. Excellent video as always!

By the way, I hate to say it but you’re probably right about that NJ figure… I got mine and regrettably that old FREEing level QC and quality in general reared its ugly head. I’m excited to hear your opinions on her. I still love the NJ figure, but when you’re paying $600 for something it better be beyond perfect 😤 and mine… well lol. Hopefully yours is much better

Man I love the race queen fig so much, sadage I broke as a joke with the meds etc after the surgery I had a few weeks back. The long drive back and forth to see my Dr which is a 2- 3hr drive to there and another to drive back, dropping 100$ gas to get there and back home. I can't wait to save up again, so i can throw money at the screen again. Great vid Ken!

There's definitely a fetish out there for armpits. I definitely think it's supposed to mimic looking like a crotch lol I suspect it's a way to get around censorship in Japan like how tentacles and otherwise phallic like objects were used in early erotic material vs the actual thing which wasn't allowed. Taihou is gorgeous. I honestly like the mouth sculpt. It's different and from a normal viewing distance the parted lips are sexy. But those glossy armpits, yeah, that's just strange. Thankfully it's not too noticeable. Thanks for another great video.
