Threads of Fate is actually available on the Vita and PS3 since it was released in the psone classics games they sold. Got a lot of bangers on my vita like the parasite eves, threads, Grandia, final fantasies, legend of dragoon.

It would be so nice if they port SH1 on Switch, just like a lot of games from PS1 and Saturn getting ported to Switch. I can only wish for it to happen though...

Dude, seeing Noa on the thumbnail immediately got me excited. Legend of Legaia is tied for my all time favorite game, only one that hasn't gotten a remake/remaster :( Mario 7 Stars, FF7, Star Ocean 2, Grandia 1, and Legaia 1. The whole list is peak.

Legend of Legaia was a childhood favorite of mine. I liked how the characters weapons and armor changed and the Ra-Seru on their arm grew as they got stronger. I wish that one would get a remaster.

Future Cop:LAPD was a great PS1 game (PC port),and I would love to play it on a big screen. I do have it on my hacked Vita, but it really needs a bigger screen.

Man, i remember those campy live action videos in disruptor and loving every minute. Additionally, one of the best gaming purchases I made back in the day was Silent Hill for $1.99 at a pawn shop. I thought the cover looked stupid as hell, and the back of the case screamed jank, but i was really into horror games thanks to resident evil. Man, what an experience i had that night. Got to the scene where the little bastards stabbed me to death at the begining of the game and had to shut the playstation off. I returned about half an hour later realizing this was no knock off as i originally suspected. I wish i kept that copy of the game so bad.

17:20 That is true, but the game was remade as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for PS2, Wii and PSP. It can benefit from having an HD remaster with IR light gun support.

"Remade" is not really the correct word. It uses the same *plot* as Silent Hill 1, but its an entirely different gameplay style and not really ps1 survival horror.

Not sure about the rest but Silent Hill is available on: Ps1 AND on Psp, Ps3 and PsVita through the PsStore. It was never left on the Ps1 alone

I wouldn't be surprised if Brave Fencer Musashi gets a remake eventually. The Legend of Legaia games I think could see one of these HD remasters sooner or later. Ehrgeiz would be amazing if it got a remake. We have a Silent Hill 2 remake so I think Silent Hill 1, 3, and 4 might get a remake too.

Threads of Fate/Dewprism did have a PS3 release in Japan. Not sure about others in the list, but the Japanese PSN store has a _LOT_ more PSX releases than other regions.

I can most certainly agree on a few of these, the ones I've played at least, Brave Fencer, Elemental Gearbolt, and Tail Concerto all bangers worth a look. I'm very familiar with Incredible Crisis, but for some unknown reason, I have never got around to actually playing it.

You forgot Capcom’s seminal jrpg series Breath of Fire iii and its superior follow-up Breath of Fire IV. Those games were stuck on PS1 and Capcom has since done nothing with the ip since that god forsaken mobile game Breath of Fire VI.

Over here in Germany most modern HD tvs got 480p settings. Its not really new or special. Though honestly, if your composite cable is still healthy PS1 games also look really good upscaled to 1080p. Ironically better than doing the same on PS2 games due to the poor Composite DAC in the PS2.

The game turned out to be a banger and ive been saying this for 20 years this game is amazing and I would LOVE to get a remake/remaster or something!!! And yes we Yanks sometimes say Hodge Podge

I'm still miffed modern consoles don't allow retrocompatibility this far back. We should be able to pluck our old PS1, PS2 and PS3 into a PS5 to play them with no issues! Hell, Sony could probably release a special Disk Drive for the PS5 Pro alongside a software upgrade that allows Emulation and that would sell like hotcakes! ...As well as at least partly justify it's ridiculous price.

Rising Zan Samurai Gunman also must be remaked. Even as cheap indie graphics(now it's ps 2 level) but with AAA smoothness. I mean Gameplay probably was bigger problem in PS1 then graphics and by today standarts it's even worse

Ehrgeiz: Fun RPG mode, okay minigames, but a rather arse fighting game. It COULD have been brilliant, but ONLY if characters could auto-track one another. Sadly (or not), Power Stone would do right what Ehrgeiz tried and failed to do. The combo system was also overly complex, but the no-tracking is the graver sin. I still hope someone with too much time on their hands will one day mod the game to allow for auto-tracking in the arena fighting portion.

As of March 2024 the wiisx (psx) emulator on wii supports light gun (guncon) elemental gearbolt works perfectly!! 🙏 Set Wii mote as guncon controller settings

Alot of remasters and remakes are good though. Especially when they fix glaring problems the original had. The remake of the first Resident Evil comes to mind. No silly engrish dialogue, more convincing background renders, new content, some slight gameplay tweaks to prevent softlocks possible in the original. It went from a playable Troma movie but with less gore and nudity to an actual horror game.
