I think you make a good point about the fact that a person can go to a independent owned diner and get a better burger for the same price. Fast food seems to be hitting the hardest in terms of "shrinkflation". Razor thin burgers, lesser quality ingredients and you're still paying $15 for a meal. For what you're getting and the amount you're getting, a lot of fast food places seem more expensive than restaurants now.

Completely agree. I went to a local diner this week and got a mushroom Swiss burger with a huge amount of fries for 11 bucks that was amazing. No fast food chain can beat it in quality and quantity. Can’t go to any ff place for less than 12 dollars now it seems.

That's insane because literally everything on Culvers' menu has always been FAR...FAR superior to every other burger chain. It's always a treat because the fries have always been super crispy, the cheese sauce is amazing and tasty, and the burgers are amazing not to speak of their deserts. Sad that this one didn't make the cut.

That is how I generally feel about Culver's as well, but I have had this burger once on a lunch break and work and I greatly regretted it. The quality on it is great, like all things Culver's, but the basic premise was not good. I don't understand how it made it to market.

Last time I was at Culvers I waited 20 minutes for a sandwich with the wrong condiments, cold fries, and they forgot the cheese sauce. The receipt was correct. This experience is actually pretty normal for me at the Culver's here and I'm done giving them chances

Overcooked patties will always ruin a burger and these are definitely over-cooked a bit. Also looks like they've been sitting for a while tbh. I don't think the super-mild/bland choices of Havarti cheese and aioli help much either. I know, I know, "garlic aioli" has been kind of trendy the last few years but the vast majority of aioli isn't really true aioli...just mayo with garlic powder mixed in 95% of the time.

I agree - their patties are always super well done. I usually get a fish sandwich, fish dinner, shrimp dinner, or sometimes a pot roast (which is a bit dry too -- so on with sauce). The fries are alright with ketchup and the frozen custard is good. Their PB shake is second to DQ IMO.

I tried this burger a few days ago, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. I think yours might have just been a one off experience. The cheese was melted, the patties were perfectly cooked and juicy, and the bun was great. Everything worked perfectly together. Obviously quality can vary from place to place too, though. Also, i got my burger plain, so just cheese and ketchup, and the bun and patties of course. Maybe getting this burger plain is the way to go! Good review, though!

They gotta go, pick it up, bring it back, maybe setup their camera (I hope most do that beforehand), then record their intro. So it's probably anywhere between 15-30 minutes before they even take the first bite. Nice thing about DaymDrops is he does it right there in the parking lot, and the food is probably only 3-5 mins old before he takes a bite.

My grain of salt I use with these reviews. Never fresh, if you eat a cold burger that’s sat around for a period of time, yeah it dries out melted coagulated cheese loses its flavor.

But, don't most people get it at the drive through and take it home? And don't most people when they get home change clothes and get comfy? Maybe feed their pet? I believe the way he does it is more in line with the vast majority of people. Even if you go somewhere from work. You normally bring it back with you. Wash your hands, get settled etc. So, even then it's 30 mins old for the majority.

@@drea4195 true, but i see an argument in some ingredients cooling off dirtier than others i mean, cold fries are awful, some other things aren't so much. so there's a lot of variability in whether ingredients dry up and cool off gracefully or not, i can totally get with that. and there's also a variable of consistency chains tend have a pretty standardized uniform product, that's why they're chains. but it's hardly ever truly uniform across all stores, some brands are better at consistency than others because they have more in-house stuff or stricter rules for the staff to follow and all that, so the particular place you go, may change the verdict a lot too and that will vary too from brand to brand that said, i'm not that nitpicky on what the OP mentioned, i've had plenty lukewarm stale bun burgers that were kept warm on a rack going to the place all the same, chain restaurants be like that when they're not patronized as much as their busier locations. sure, it's not at its potential best, but there will always be tons of variables as mentioned above, so as long as you revist the product every once in a while, it should still be pretty fair

I work at Culver’s, the cook probably dried out the burger too much so all the moisture is just gone. It’s likely a one-time issue that could be resolved with a complaint and the burger will likely be better next time around.

I used to work at a Culver's and I'm actually shocked that you recieved this burger. It was one of the better jobs I've had the pleasure of having. The work environment was supportive and I had really cool managers who were more than willing to change the schedule if someone wants to switch jobs with someone else. I'm kinda small and they got me a proper kitchen stool so I can reach the back of the grill without being in the way of everyone else in the kitchen.

I always enjoy these videos. We had a Culver’s in Denver Colorado that I used to really enjoy going to. That doesn't look dry from time. Just looks dry. I've had it take more than 30 minutes to have a burger delivered. Even after heating it up some, it still tasted juicy. And i would think that he's smart enough to have everything set up, prior to going and getting the food. Makes no sense to go get food, and THEN set stuff up.

As someone who works at Culver's, I can probably guess it wasn't seasoned. All burger patties are the same, and definitely was the same for the pub burger as well. It's also likely that they used a burger that was sitting on a spatula for a bit because they were up patties (made extra because of a rush or something of the like). As for the garlic mayo, we definitely used way too much on the burger. At least I thought so. But we were instructed to use a scoop, and spread the large glob of garlic mayo. But with regular mayo, we just spread it with a fat, short knife of sorts. The negatives could have easily been fixed. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Just pulled a bad straw, I suppose.

When you showed the cross-section, the patties looked very dry. Makes me think that maybe it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while. What a shame. It sounds like an appealing burger, but doesn't live up to the hype - at least not this time.

Quality of the burgers heavily depends based on location. I have about 3 witching a 10-20 minute drive and 2 of them are really good. The burger is nice and buttery without being overbearing. However the third one changed something and is just way too buttery and salty. Overall Culver’s is pretty good and you just gotta find the right one.

The two near my current place are great but the one in the area I used to live was embarrassingly bad. Other than the custard, everything on their menu was bad. I felt bad using that Culver's as an introduction point for my friend who came down for a visit. He ordered whatever the sandwich with toast is and it was a soggy mess that still somehow ended up with dry patties. I felt bad hyping it up.

To answer your question: while Culver's was founded in Wisconsin around 40 years ago, they have since expanded, first to nearby states, then south down the Mississippi to Texas and east and south through the Midwest and into the deep south, and has spent the last few years spreading into the mountain states. Now Culver's is almost national, except the West Coast, the Mid-Atlantic states, and the New England area.

The patties were cooked way to long. They are smash burgers, so they are supposed to be thin, but they should be juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The cook messed this one up for sure.

I like Culver's too normally but when I was trying all the chicken wars over covid (I always get spicy) I found their submission to be the worst of all the chains. It was completely flavorless

Question... How fresh is the food when you record the review? It occurred to me that often the food doesn't look to be hot anymore. This is important because items such as burgers can harden and dry out given the fat solidifies. Anyways I enjoy your videos a lot, you're different and interesting and honest. I appreciate it! :)

I'm actually surprised because out of all the fast food places, Culver's is the only one I will eat at. I've never gotten a bad meal from there. Now with all fast food places, the specific location can play a factor. I usually stick to a double with bacon or the patty melt with the onion rings on the side.

We have one here in Jacksonville. I ate there for the first time this past weekend. I got the sourdough patty melt and it was great! Their onion rings are good as well.

This sounds a bit like the Garlic Steakburger at Steak 'n Shake, which is probably my favorite burger there. (Only 1 kind of cheese, but they add garlic butter to the top of the bun - which makes it a little messy but very tasty, and one of the few "spicy" burgers my sensitive tummy can handle.) I have noticed in the past that the fancier burgers at Culver's tend to be a bit greasy. I also believe that this Pub Burger may be a re-release of something which was on the Culver's menu pre-pandemic.

The Garlic Steakburger is pretty much the only burger I get from Steak 'n Shake, especially since with fries it's only $4. Hard to beat that in this economy. And I think it's delicious.

I feel like even Culver’s quality and service has gone down the drain. I went there a few weeks ago and the server seemed very disinterested and she even forgot an item (which as far as I can remember has never happened at Culver’s). And when I told her there was a missing item she seemed really irritated. Now, I know people can have bad days but Culver’s employees have always been so kind and respectful that I was kind of surprised. I’ve gotten to the point where if I go to a place and get a bad item or service I’m done giving them my money, and I hope other people follow suit.

🤩I love to watch your reviews. I just had the Pub burger about 2 hours before watching this. Had I seen it beforehand, I probably wouldn't have gone to Culver's. That being said, the one I had was really good. It looked nothing like what you had. All the cheese was in one stack, and it was hot and melted and had good cheese pull. If you know what I mean.😋 I would definitely order it again. I'm sorry yours wasn't good.
