That 11" Dobson is a stand out instrument. If I had the money, I would snatch it up right now!

This man cannot play a sour note on the 5-string... and he builds 'em like he plays 'em: with class, taste and musical appeal. BIG thumbs up!... oh, and I subscribed, too!

I love the almost blended tone of the 12". I hadn't heard a side-by-side play of both sizes until now - it's very neat. Thank you

I LOVE the sound of that Cherry. But I wasn't fast enough to grab it! And you only posted this 5 hours ago! "Grats to whomever got that really lovely sounding banjo.

Both are beautiful, but that 11” walnut with the Dobson has a really special tone- don’t think I’ve ever heard an 11 in walnut- would be great to hear it with a calf skin head to give it just a hair more weight😊

The 11” sounds Crisp. I like the bass of the 12”. I was going to pick the 11” but I think the rich bass would go great with a fiddle. Dang! I still don’t know!!!

I like both. I love the base of the 12" and I love the pop and balance of the 11" . I would probably go for the 11" .

I was already leaning the 12", but the D tuned version clinched it. I prefer the 12. I'd LOVE to hear both sizes with skin heads.

Wow, both sound great, but that 11' Dobson is amazing! I'd buy that Dobson had I not just got one from ya. I'll save my pennies and get ready, as I'm sure you'll continue to have more amazing banjos to come in the store. Cumberland Gap really highlights that 12'. I wish I'd run into ya at the pickin park to hear what my 12' sounds like played by a proper musician...lol.

I love them both! i have a 12" Vega and 11" Pisgah already, but one can never have too many banjos! i do not have a banjo with a natural/animal skin head, i live in Southern Illinois where it is humid, would i have a lot of problems with a natural head? also i loved the inlay of the flower and honey bee on a previous banjo, as a beekeeper that is what i need! lol

It’s pretty humid here in Arkansas as well, I think it wouldn’t be a problem for you. A few things that are good to know. Calf skin is less stretchy than goat skin and holds up to humidity better, and sounds great. Medium thickness head is what you want. Too thin, and it gets too stretchy and too thick and you lose sound transfer. We also treat the heads so they absorb less moisture. If you’re interested in a Bee Banjo, give us an email. ozarkbanjo@gmail.com

How do you get a dobson to sound so mellow? Low skin tension? Mine always sound very bright/metallic

How does one go about getting their hands on one of those 11" models? Such a lovely, warm, and clear tone.

That 11 inch has a bit more clarity without losing too much low end. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

The 11” has that signature, plaintive sound of an old-time banjo. The 12” sounds too guitar-like to me
