I’m confused? Hook both ends of the positives to the positive terminals and see if it charges? I just did that and it didn’t charge. I suck with electrical shit. But I’m guessing that’s how you do it? I’ve got a 14 Cummins. Primary isn’t charging correctly

My 05 Cummins was doing the exact same thing. Boiled out the left battery even. But that simple connection was the problem.
@BackFortyTV3 жыл бұрын
That’s crazy bro!
@gregcousineau44313 жыл бұрын
Also come to learn, the right side battery controls the electrical and charging system. So it was telling the alternator and regulator it needed more voltage. And that's how it boiled the left battery because of the loose connection. Thank you so much!

I just had the exact same problem, and it was a batt clamp not quite tight enough ! time will tell now ,if this is also the cause of all my dash lights flashing, and tachometer, and speedometer flashing to zero and back again.

I have a 2005 Dodge 2500 cummins turbo and I'm having an issue with mine, volt reading it is charging, but after sitting overnight batteries are down to the point it won't start, could I have the same issue as what you experienced?
@BackFortyTV4 жыл бұрын
I’d start by checking/cleaning the connections on the jumper wire. Then if that doesn’t help, check to make sure nothing is draining them. If none of that works, have the batteries tested! Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

@@johnbritton7151 yessir! When mine has a loose connection on one side or the other, mine will act like it’s dead batteries. Tighten up the one side and kicks right off.

@@BackFortyTV Just checked the jumper cable, passenger side had a little bit of corrosion, cleaned it up, I guess later today I'll find out if that was the culprit, I have a love hate relationship with my truck lol, when running good I love it, when it's acting up like this I hate it lol, it's kinda like a woman 😂😂

When I turn my key on to let the grid heater do it’s thing the fuel and battery gauge would always kick in and show the voltage and how much fuel I had and when I started the truck the gauges would stay where they was surpost to be. So I got in my truck other day and turned the key to let the grid heater do it’s thing and the battery and fuel gauge will not work. But here is where it gets weird when I start the truck the gauges kick in just fine like nothing was wrong. At the same time this started happening my CD player will not turn on but when you click the time button the time will show for a couple of second and go away. I can eject cds and my cigarette lighter quit working. Now my fuel gauge light on the cluster is dimmer than any other gauge. I had a scanner hooked up and the only thing that showed up is aps relay open cuirct. Turn out that is for adjustable pedals which my truck does not come with since it’s an slt model. In the fuse box there is a spot for the aps relay but no fuse and I don’t think that would have anything to do with my gauges. Got any ideal what could have caused this? All fuses are good and it runs great and gauges work once the truck is started.

Trenton C now that’s a confusing issue. I would guess at either a bad ground on the body or maybe bad computer. But that’s purely speculation.
