Hey Finn, I've learned that wiper arms off of a 90s ford truck work perfect on square body trucks. They have a stiffer spring so they hold to the windshield better and they allow you to use the better more sturdy hook style wiper blade mount

I always run LT / commercial tyres on trailers. Rather than those nasty "trailer only" tyres. The stainless steel issue you're having, it doesn't matter where the fasters are from, it's just a quirk of the material. Another really good thing to use on stainless is a teflon based paste. You don't want to a molly or graphite based one on stainless. We've had galling on custom made bolts bolts before using high quality bar. Great to see the old truck back.

So back in the day my dad and I worked at a hod rod shop/classic car dealership/antique mall/restaurant. Very early 2000s and at one point we had 2 brand new 2002 GMC car haulers built by hodges with the 8.1 liter, Allison 6 speeds and gear vendors over/underdrives. Freaking units. They didn't make as much power and nowhere near the torque but those things would haul a big old boat of a caddy or something on the back while pulling a 2 car box trailer through the mountains at 75 like it was nothing. The roadkill ramp truck is gonna be one hauling beast!

Sweet truck! Really glad to see it back on the road in full form and function. Also glad you kept the 19.5s with those killer center caps. Tire guy is spot on. I absolutely love everything but the tahoe seats and console. No offense meant, but you probably found the only Tahoe console in the junkyard with a good latch. They all break and lock your stuff inside. It really hurts to break one open, I'd imagine it would hurt even worse to bust it open after you put a bunch of money into putting custom upholstery on it. Really though, after being a huge RK fan since episode one, if that's the first thing I've found to bitch about, you're definitely doing something right. Love you guys!

About the conversation about low-pro tires on a truck, I've always looked at trucks like that as a great looking way to completely ruin the only useful aspect of owning a truck. Just like dropping a dually, or going full BroDozer. Either way, the truck becomes less useful.

Those 1973 square bodies were so rust prone when new in the mid west with the road salt they started rusting thru within 1-2 tears. It was common to see pre '73 trucks in better shape as far as rust than the 1973- 76 trucks on the used car lots.

I can totally relate to the stainless steel hardware seizing, this weekend I had five out of twenty fasteners seize while mounting my solar panels on my truck camper. So will you be adding school bus mirrors for watching the center caps while driving? Thank you for sharing all your tips!

Scott did a great job explaining that. I wish I had that info in his words when dealing with my last truck purchase. I basically said the same thing that he did and I asked for a different set of tires in the purchase of my last truck. The dealer was actually selling michelin winter tires so I wanted a set of those instead of the take offs that were on my Ram, not a huge ask with a brand new Laramie Limited truck if you ask me but they said no. Now, knowing I would be towing at the limit of the truck with shit tires on I got the rim and tire warranty… honestly a risky and dangerous move… I blew both of my lefts while towing, wrecked the rims as well and I made them give me new rims and tires. A dangerous game that I am not proud of. Auto makers and dealers need to be held accountable for selling vehicles equipped with tires that are unsafe for the vehicle’s licensed gvrw. If I had veered off and hit someone and killed them, it would have likely been my fault in the eyes of the law even though the dealer told me I could tow more than what I was with that setup they sold me. I knew better, the courts do as well.
