Felpro makes oem gaskets for Cummins. Same gasket different box

Naw, I had mine blow out on the water jacket after a year. When I removed the gasket I actually had a second one on hand but I went ahead and ordered one from a dealer. So I got to compare them side by side new. The OEM was thicker as the "Marine Gasket" is now the standard gasket.

Did you use this gasket? Did it fix your oil/coolant mixing issue? I've got the exact same symptoms with my 12 valve. Also in my 08 f350 haha

Turns out the block the machine shop sold me was cracked behind the tappet cover! But yes, I am now running this gasket with head studs and compound turbos, makes around 70psi, all good so far :)

@@bfcking man that's frustrating. Mines gotta be something like that. I've got similar miles on mine running a bit more boost. Might try and find another motor and just throw my head on.

@@nickvandervalk6387 I rigged up the garden hose to the engine, put a mechanical pressure gauge on the coolant system, and found that it could not hold 15psi, and water slowly started coming out of the pan. I dropped the pan, and water was on the cam, between #4 and #5. Pulled the pump, then tappet cover, and found the crack. I will say, the first time when I really did blow a head gasket, it over pressurized the coolant system while driving, and I had oil in the coolant. The cracked block was coolant in oil, not the other way around. And yes, it was VERY frustrating!

@@bfcking Holy smokes! Just read through your whole thread. I thought I had bad luck on engine number one. Kutos to you for sticking through the project. This morning I was ready to sell my truck as is. Glad I stumbled access your video and thread. Gave me the motivation to continue 👍🏻
