Cummins Killer Dowel Pin Fix! This 12 Valve Dodge 2500 was purchased new by my grandpa and maintained meticulously. In this video I instal a KDP kit to make sure this truck makes it another 270000 miles. This is a very easy weekend job that could be done in the driveway. Don’t risk driving your 12 valve around without this simple upgrade!

I definitely would have left that piece as it was, before even if the bolt loosened up it would only back out a couple turns then get locked by the timing cover, now your at the mercy of the locktite

Yeah that was a big mistake on my part. I should have stepped back and looked at it a little harder. At least everyone else can learn from my mistake!

I covered my entire dash with Sound deadner and a dash cover of course. Problem solved 😂

Just to let you know, that if or when you decide to replace the dash, it is a pain in the rear. you have to take out screws near the dash and they are pointed towards the driver. I bet at the factory they put them in before the windshield. I did it on mine, but just schedule yourself more time than just a few hours lol

Dashskins offers a cover that glues on right over the original dash. You can find KZbin videos that shows how to do it. Looks factory when it's done. Good luck!

FYI, with the supplied long bolt, there is no way for the thick "tab"

Sorry, ...to finish my response, the long bolt is locked by the housing so cannot come loose. So modifying the tab wasn't necessary.

It's a great truck. You have the power to do whatever you want and the mpg aint bad either. If you can find one reasonably priced that hasn't been abused, go for it.

The piece is thick for a reason: if it does loosen and back out, it will hit the valve cover and stop.
