I worked team 5 At JEP in 94/1995 assembly line and before I installed the valve cross-heads. I was finding an inordinate amount of misaligned half locks in the valve spring retainer. That got the engine pulled off the line til the repair was made. The pointing fingers between the head line and assembly was comical, I must have found a dozen or so over time until it was rectified that had me with TOP "good Catch" overall finds write-ups for the team I was at 40 percent and 2nd place was my friend Doug at 10 percent.....and down from there for other employee's. A friend from test showed me a disassemble engine that ate a valve and it was destroyed. Being a mechanic gave me the edge to spot problems where most others were just droids putting in they're time. so what did they do when production was lowered; they booted the temp (me), so some other got to stay on. The line was producing the L10 and the M11 engines at that time

can i remark my accessory pulley by going off of the valve position? mine is A for 1and 6 so could i do cylinder one valves closed to know that i’m at “A” and remark the pulley, i’ll replace it anyway but i figure i’ll need to clock the position regardless.

@@truckerstyleshawn place called heavy diesel tuner in Cleveland Tn nice folks but damn expensive 1,499 for custom tune and rebuild of ecm but can’t find anyone else that will mess with m11 celect

Hey yall i got a 2001 cummins ISM. The oil starts out at 65 psi then drops into the teens after warming up and it drops at the filter head Ive ruled out pump, guage, leaks, injectors, jakes while everything on the valve train looks good. I had a 12 hour diagnostic that ensured the internals had normal ware. I recently had the injectors in cylinder 2 replaced as well as a rocker arm on the same cylinder replaced. I used the truck for two days and had to bring it back to the same shop. The mechanic informed me that there was a wire broken on the number 2 jake assembly. And now insists that it wasnt from the work they did but dosent know whats wrong with it please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I would pull the oil pump and shim it or Chang it out. That’s what I would do.
