The following is worth paying attention to when comparing available products, because it often causes some confusion. American 850 cuin corresponds to European 800 cuin. At Cumulus we use European standards.

Great review! Looks like a really good quilt. I’m living in southern Sweden and am planning to start bike packing. Do you have an opinion on which Cumulus down weight would be best for use in May to September? I’m a side sleeper with a normal body temperature. Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer. Hi, what can you say about the Comforter M350? They are quite similar, but Comforter is less heavy, and I suppose it has no zipper.

don't forget cumulus use a higher eu fill power where as ee would be closer to 750fp eu. ive got the quilt 150 with 50g over stuff coming next week.👌

Are these not available in the Untied States? Great looking quilt. I’ve been debating between the Enlightened Equipment Revelation and the katabatic flex quilt... Currently, I have a mummy bag and I’m just not happy with it. Want to move to a quilt.

Go with the Katabatic if you want the best. EE is very good for the price, but the Katabatic is superb

...thanks for the quick reply. I have also been looking at the Comforter M400 (Cumulus.pl) and i was wondering if it comes with the same features...i am thinking of the baffles at footend and neck, like the 450 quilt 2018. I am not able to make it out from the pictures and thought you might be able to help.

How is it that you have had the EE quilt down to -4, but the Cumulus is only rated at 2 degrees comfort but has more down and better fill power? Shouldn't the cumulus quilt be rated for lower temps? Or am I missing something?

From what I hear, EE are a bit optimistic with their temperature ratings, while Cumulus and several others are more conservative. It's better to underpromise, in my opinion ;)

Hi, great video!!! :) may i ask you, is the down used at cumulus treated like other brands do to make it water resistant? ( hydrophobic? nikwax ?). I haven't found anything mentioned in their website Thank you :)

How would you compare the outer material of the Revelation (10D) in comparison with the Cumulus? I'm 184cm - does a normal sized version work?

Reto Baumann its more or less the exact same materials. Standard length should work just fine for you

Hat off and thanks for good videos and reviews. I am looking for a new 3-seasoon sleepingbag and looked at Panyam 450 in wide if thats possible. Now I start to think about this or the cumulus 450 quilt. Worried that it will let in cold air when used around minimum temp. Any thoughts to share?

Hi Magnus and thanks! I think you will be suprised how warm the Cumulus quilts are. I've had the older quilt 450 to around -4 without major issues. Though, probably not as warm as the Panjam, it is more flexible and can be used year round, almost as warm, and considerably lighter

Hello Ken, thanks for info. I dont have any experience at all about quilts. Do you zip them up as a sleepingbag when cold? Then it looks quite narrow? Can I order a wide in normal length? or dont you think it would be necessary? I am a side sleeper185cm 100kg and use a Thermarest Neoair Large. Best regards Magnus

Hi, the cumulus only zips up at the footbox, but you can fasten it around you though they are suppose to be fastened onto the pad itself. If you fasten it onto the pad itself than they are massive! There's nothing quilt like it as I toss and turn all night when I sleep, and the quilt just stay perfectly in place on top of me. For me nothing even comes close to the maximum comfort that a quality quilt offers. With that said, and 100kg and 185, I would problably suggest going with the large/wide variation. I'm sure 185 will work, but your feet would most likely touch the end of the bag.

@@Backpackinglightse Thinking about that as well. I wouldnt want to buy the longer version if it'snoty necessary. As long as the top goes over shoulders it should be ok I assume.
