Congratulations on 10 years. Thank you for another inspiring podcast. For your Sabai top... I am sure if your checked if you checked in ravelry under yarn ideas. There are 89 projects in the Sandes Garn Line. Notes there from makers may make you feel more comfortable about the garment. You are absolutely right about the knitting environment

Jacque, have a wonderful anniversary trip with the husband and have a great time at the mill. There were at one time numerous mills here in NC but sadly most have closed. I believe there is a large one in Lowell, MA but I was with several non knitters so did not get to visit. Your podcast is super and I love the way that you just talk and seem to always know what you will say next. I really like the fall colors that you are using for your first fall knit of the season. Moving back south after spending 40 years in PA has been a wardrobe challenge for me. I believe in the 8 years we have lived here I have worn my winter coat a total of 2 times each year. I need to get back to wearing the fall and winter colors so I won’t look like a nut case. I will use your podcast for inspiration, and hopefully get it together soon. Love all you do, thanks. Liz

Hi, Liz! You are so kind with your words, thank you for being here! We lived in Austin, Texas a few years and I remember similar feelings, so weird embracing those seasons in warm climates. Excited to hear how you tackle it 😊 Happy making!

So nice to see your channel. I do agree about summer yarns being quite different to work with. This is the first time I’ve worked with them too. Just one thing I thought I’d mention is that Silk is actually and animal fibre as it comes from the cocoon of the silk worm.
@jacqueismaking4 ай бұрын
Ah, I always misspeak on that one!! Thank you for mentioning here!

Hey! I just found your channel and I just love what you talk about! What I liked most about your last video was when you touched on how you kept your projects organized and stayed realistic. I could use more organization tips and how to stay focused to finish one wip before getting too excited to start another one.

I totally feel you on the KFO Pure Silk! I knit the Cloud Top by PetiteKnit which used KFO PS held double. It felt like a slog with the tensioning issues and it just didn't seem to be very forgiving. It blocked like a dream--everything evened out and the drape was beautiful. Also looking forward to seeing your California Sweater work up--I had a sweater quantity set aside for a Lento but once Leslie finished her pattern I decided to hold onto it and wait for her pattern release! Happy Anniversary to you and your love--hope you have a wonderful celebration!

I made the cumulus v tea and ended up loving it! It blocked beautifully, i did use wooden needles when knitting it to help me even the tension.

Thanks for another great video. I always look forward to seeing your WIP's and FO's. I especially found it interesting comparing the Line to KFO pure silk. I know they are totally different fiber content but as a relatively new knitter who lives in FL I guess I'm destined to knit with these fibers. I have not tried Line yet but will definitely try it now. Your yarn choice for the test knit is stunning, can't wait to see your progress on that.

Yes for sure, if I were you I’d try Line or Tynn Line (the thinner one) first! I’ve also learned silk doesn’t do well in sun, so take with that what you will for sunny Florida!

I am knitting with the same silk yarn and I use addi rocket squared … I got a fixed one to try and loved it for this yarn and actually any of my small diameter knitting…. Usually I am all about my knitpro lykke or mindful even find zings nice… but these addi rocket squared are easy to grip and the stitches really are so consistent and pretty even before blocking…

Wooden needles (I love knitter's pride foursquares) are key when using yarns with little or no stretch, like cotton, linen, and silk. The needles have a tiny bit of give so it is much easier on your hands. Plus it's easier to knit those slippery yarns. I like the more polished birch wooden needles so they aren't quite as sticky as the bamboo ones.

Ideally, you shouldn't be able to feel (or even see) the Kitchener graft. Think of it as making knit stitches and when you pull the yarn, make sure you can see the v shape of the stitches. It will turn out invisible (and you won't be able to feel it)
@jacqueismaking4 ай бұрын
Maybe the decreases were making it too tight, you think?
