Thanks for another brilliant insight , inc the drawbacks. We are avid Cunard fans here too and enjoy the cosseted feel of the Queens Grill. Being on a large ship with lots of entertainment choice with the seclusion and peace of the Grills product is what we like. Having sailed with Silversea , we can thoroughly recommend them too. However the lack of large ship venue diversity is what we miss.Its just our time off and the itinerary that dictates our choice of company now. Back on Silversea in June for the Baltics and looking forward to being on Silver Cloud again since her 2012 refit. You won't equal the space in even the largest Silversea suite but they are stunning when it comes to service. Thanks again boys ! Matt and steve

Cheers sir. Just booked this cabin this morning for a NY/Caribbean cruise next Feburary covid permitting.......Id originally booked a Q4 midship penthouse yesterday when the holiday went on sale but we overlooked the lifeboats so saw this one was still available and went for it hopefully it wont be too noisy

Thanks for the great tour, really enjoyed it. I am crossing on the 3rd of January from New York to Southampton and will be my 4th time on the QM2, and really looking forward to it a lot. Maybe some day I will get into one of those duplex suites! Rather handsome too… ;)

well i have to say the boarding process for us it was the best we have ever had,from dropping the car off to getting into the suite 20 mins, they took us straight through past everybody else. for us silversea are great but as we are smokers seabourn we can still smoke on our balcony which for us is a god send, we are very aware of people around us who don,t smoke so will always tell them ,but will not smoke if they not happy when on their balcony,both silversea/seabourn give the same product and make you fell very special

The Butlers Pantry is for preparing drinks and canapés to give to guests if you wish to have parties in the suite...

Good review. I am with you on balcony and the lack of privacy. The rest of the suite seems a little sterile to me to be honest, but thanks for the glimpse.

I was okay with it until you hit the balcony. Right over the pool is disappointing. I can't imagine Cunard pools being that noisy, but the lack of privacy would be a deal-breaker.

great review we were on 30 th nov to the 11 dec in 6069 Q1 great suite peter the butler was great we wanted to try a big ship not for us we always cruise with either silversea/seabourn which we have booked for 2014 thanks again

Thanks Matthew, Peter & Ryan were nice (as they all are), I think its time we tried silversea or seabourn, we have been hearing good things about them, my husband (in the video) really likes Cunard and they are indeed nice ships, but I can't help feel that we are missing that little something (apart from the disappointing boarding process at Southampton), despite this we have booked a Q1 on the Queen Victoria (our favourite) for the Canary Islands 2014. thanks again.

If the camera had looked to the right going out, you would see a big space, with room to back up and not be seen. Look at the deck plan. I wonder why only part of the balcony was shown?

Most commenters are missing One key issue. Privacy sure that is So important to spend that kind of money but for THAT kind of money to be at the stern (or bow) in a rough crossing you'd be sea sawing so bad up and down if you're AT ALL sensitive you'd be REALLY upset over the amount you were paying to throw up all the way!

The balcony is disappointing for a wonderful Suite , and below the balcony on deck 8 , is the smoking deck with a section of seating for smoking /pool bars/ pool and Verandah Restaurant . Beautiful cabin.

That balcony location is a deal-breaker. There is no way I would pay that kind of cabbage for that foul view, noise & lack of privacy.

Too bad about the non-private deck. If you had a normal suite you would get one. Also I do not understand why the bedroom doesn't have a deck. The owner's suite on Oceana had a deck off the living area as well as the bedroom. The suite takes up the whole end if the ship. Its approximately 2000 square feet. My wife and really enjoyed it. We had real butler service and had plenty of room to entertain. Lastly we had more dining options. Why can't Conard offer more?

I’d rather be in a little cabin with a porthole. I like to feel I’m on a ship when I’m on a ship, not any hotel room in any town. So many city apart hotels look like this. Boring show offs with these suites. I sailed on the QE2 years ago, that was full of boring show off too. It’s just so difficult to find the old fashioned no nonsense practical passage sea voyages nowadays.
