Cunard's Queen Anne embarks on Maiden Voyage with Fireworks Display in Southampton

As night fell, the sky above the port was illuminated with a breathtaking fireworks display, celebrating the departure of the Queen Anne as she set sail on her seven-night journey to Lisbon, Portugal, via La Coruna, Spain. This marks the beginning of a new era in luxury ocean travel, with the Queen Anne being the 249th ship to proudly sail under the Cunard flag. Departing just after 9 pm local time from Southampton, the ship was cheered on by thousands of spectators, setting the scene for a voyage filled with celebration, including a special Maiden Gala Evening and performances by the renowned tenor Russell Watson.
