Put her out in the cold, didn't want her close to he
'Cause his granddaughters diffrent than she suppose to be
Diluted her genes, its stopped the music it seemed
That they'd only seen polluted stream, and that wasn't clean
Said he could almost no longer stand the breath
From this pure horror, more worse than Amittyville
So what's next? Don't answer me yield. (yup)
This is a normal occurance, not something randomly real
Ain't even allowed visits ove a child's pigment
His in-crowd ignant, a situation "wow!" isn't it?
Hard times, baby daddy grinds to support
His mother and a few other friends privately in her fort
For short stays, ya know? but more aid was needed
Baby is like a year and a half now and speaking
More than I can say about that man with his child
They can't even come face to face and share smiles
Raining pure pain on her life by staying distant
Like she spawned a fucking anti-christ or a satan infant
Blatent mentions about family blood won't leave
Love's her deeply, but evil sends it's opposite feed
"old fashioned"
Too ever set in his ways to ever relate
If he could just set it aside, there'd be heaven to pay
Then, weathered and aged time swept him to grave
Love conquers all? shit. I'd say that areas grey
[Hook]
Old fashioned people they never know why [x2]
Old fashioned
[Bridge: Deacon]
Most don't even know why they believe what they believe, man
Never taking a second to look at life
Bad water in our seeds, y'all, still growing weeds, dawg
In the dark, walls blocking all that light
Most don't even know why they believe what they believe, man
Never taking a second to look at life
Bad water in our seeds, y'all, still growing weeds, dawg
In the dark
[Verse 2: Immortal Technique]
Looking at life in retrospect it's hard to regret
Stuck in your ways cause hatred is hard to forget
Niggaz talk all religious trying to barter with death
Parts of the flesh wrinkle up while you start to reflect
And even though nobodies life is ever perfect
You start to wonder if all the pain was really worth is
Pondering the purpose of living, the curse that was given
Dreaming about freedom and escaping the prison
People who pimp children are really raping religion
The matrix is fiction placed in a vision
But now the technology follows me solemnly
Building the future laws to my philosophy
Alzheimers cutting through like a lobotomy
Not even the golden arthritis of king Midas
Could buy comfort and peace for the righteous
I survived disease and political crisis
By backstabbing gnomes that are now lifeless
And now i live vicariously through my kids
Like people who love the sport, but can't play for shit
Fighting glaucoma, front the cops taking a hit
I slip into a coma, roaming over the planet
Leaving the gold and the granite, the old and the famished
But just before I vanish as I think I'm at the end
The sun becomes the light of my birth and I live again
[Hook]

Damn, we got our own problems but this song makes you open your eyes to other struggles. My momz barely had money to buy a whopper for both of us yesterday. 25 is all we had. I spent the rest of the money on kush that she gave me to escape my depression. And then a homeless crackhead begged for my last Newport. It was all he could get at the time. I felt broke but I knew he was broker. It astonishes me how crooked this world has become, man. From wars, to rape, to infant abuse, to General Gun Violence, you name it. It's just a matter of time before the most unfortunate rise up and say the hell with it and just lash out at the system for giving us scraps to pick up and fight each other with. That's why sometimes it's best to focus on someone besides your goddamn self.

I'm an Eminem fan but his lyrics don't really give any knowledge his more of a random rhymer. He's a good freestyle MC. Most of the people look at how many records he sold, so they say he's the best of all time.like technique said,"nobody is better than me, they just got better marking schemes" or what KRS said,"MCs be hopeless they think record self make em dopest". The only reason eminem is mainstream cuz of what he says on records. I still respect him,but underground MCs are better.

Oh yeah, and that line "I live vicariously through my kids Like a parent who loves a sport but can't play for shit." makes sense to me. His kids are like him without him directly making them, they are indirectly becoming more like him from being around him, they came from him. it makes sense. Like a parent, who loves baseball, but can't play, so he puts his kid in baseball to appreciate the sport and his kid.

Apathy and Celph title are on Sin-A-Matic...Misery Loves Comedy is another dope album and Louis has been featured on a lot of stuff (has an album called Odd Couple w/ Jay Love which is solid), has a ton of b-side 12 inch stuff pre his debut (a track called Loudmouth samples Em saying, "I used to be a Loudmouth" from Bad Meets Evil on the CLASSIC SSLP...Louis loves Em in his prime), Gentlemen and a scholar, tons of great songs...He and Apathy/Celph had a falling out (weird b-c track Apathy is on)

@thestevester94 that actually does make sense. vicarious means : experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another. Also if you don't like his music, why go out of your way out of all of the videos on youtube to make a negative comment when you could be listening to music that you do like.

LYRICAL raw hip hop album of the last 5-10 years NO QUESTION. First time I heard bolic on RECORD was on the DWD secret song, but I was a soph/jr in college when it came out (03 i believe, possibly 01) and GO AHEAD AND GRIP GLOCKS verse made me go GOD DAMN...I knew he was SUPER DOPE and that I had seen him somewhere before and then it clicked that I had seen him get SCREWED on a Showtime (whose next) contest where he spit a free AND MURDERED this wack female mc (but got jerked)...

@jthesnake77 I saw them both together at Rock The Bells 07. I had never heard of either one of them previously, and when Bolic did his verse from the hidden track, my jaw dropped. They had the best live show I've ever seen. As far as the other MCs go, I haven't heard of Louis Logic, so I'll definitely check him out. The others, like I said, everyone's got their own method of judging. All incredible artists though. Especially Elzhi and Em (Michigan represent!)

@jthesnake77 I wish Kamachi hadn't left AOTP. The religious imagery he brought to his verses (especially on Pages In Blood) was out cold to me. His Concrete Gospel album was dope though. And I think Celph's verse on Seven was the best verse on Ritual Of Battle. You're right about Tech's more laid back stuff too. Leaving The Past is one of my favorite songs of his. Still, to me he's just as good technically as any you mentioned aside from Bolic. Although I'm sure I can't convince you of that.

@jthesnake77 Ha ha, yeah I feel you on the yelling, although it IS nice to know that his delivery will be consistent. You don't have to worry, "how will his voice sound on this?" You already know. I guess when I judge lyricism, I tend to look at the big picture. Storytelling ability, wordplay (by which I mean metaphors, similes, puns and so on), and having something to say holds just as weight to MY OWN PERSONAL judgment of who is a good lyricist.

@ChunkyPirate Both incredible MCs right there. Crooked I is better at going off the dome no question, but lyrically I don't feel he's as versatile as Tech. Kinda the same with Vast Aire. His stream of consciousness stuff kills it, but Tech's got him on politics, battle rhymes, and story telling, I feel. Also, the way Vast flows kinda slow makes him sound like he's freestyling most of the time, giving himself time to come up with the next lyric. Not that he's off beat or anything.

@ChunkyPirate It just creates that impression. Still "Shu (God of Aire) has gotta be one of the best rap songs in history. It's funny that you mention those two MCs in particular. Tech gave Vast a shout out on the "Beef and Broccoli" skit from Revolutionary Vol. 1, and Crooked guested on "Lick Shots" from The 3rd World. That would probably be a great way to get a perspective on things. Just listen to both their verses back to back and compare.

No, I'm not saying it matters, but if people talk lyrical skill, you have to give honest comparisons of skill. The ones I hate most are these wanna be gangsters that say so and so has more street cred. Street cred, only means, you're the toughest, baddest guy, living in the hood, with no money.
