Cup-Cup Packer & Burst Port System (BPS™) - Running and Frac Process

The cup-cup selective isolation tool features robust, cup-type packers that straddle perforations, frac valves, or Burst Port sleeves to provide reliable, accurate placement of stimulation fluids.
The cup-cup BHA is run into the well on the jointed pipe or coiled tubing to below the lowest zone to be fractured. A mechanical casing collar locator (MCCL) is used to calibrate depth, and the cup-cup tool is landed with cups on either side of the BPS. At depth, the auto-J is cycled into the set position, closing the equalizing valve and isolating the BHA below the cups. With the tool in the set position, applying pressure will energize the cups against the casing ID, isolating pressure to the area between the cups. The pressure is increased to rupture the burst discs in the BPS. After the BPS has been opened, the frac can then be pumped. After pumping the frac job, clean up can be performed by reverse circulation. Reverse circulation allows fluid to be circulated back up the tubing through the flow diverter sub. A straight pull on the tubing un-sets the equalizing valve and cycles the auto-J into the POOH position. The process is then repeated for all stages to be fractured.
