Can't deny this is an odd pairing, like the fact that A Mother's Love isn't used for one of the endgame fights, but ey, what can you do? At least when the songs are fitting, they are REALLY fitting. Enemy Approaching: Since there are not many normal enemies aside from the Run and Gun ones, this can go with the root pack pretty well. Protocol: Mm, guess it fits alright, since Goopy and Martlet are both blue, though I can say Martlet is a lot more chill. Macro Lens: Now this fits very well! This of course play during the frog fight in Yellow. A Mother's Love: Needless to say, this song is more emotional than the fights the individual phases are paired with in this game. But again, we're sport for choice. Danza: Wild but quite fitting. Floral Fury had a sort of Spanish feel to it, as did Danza. I'm a little surprised it wasn't paired with one of Flowey's themes for the sake of a joke, so nice to see you get a bit creative. Retribution: Honestly woulda been more fitting in my mind if this was switched for Matchstick's theme because Grim Matchstick is effin tough, just like Zenith Martlet! Enemy Retreating: Quite alright, but maybe I'd put one of the Specimens over Beppi's fight myself, especially Patchwork. Remedy: Aside from Wally being a bird, I have no idea why this pairing is as fitting as it is! It is a little funny hearing it over the last two phases, as at that point, the beat goes harder than them. Forlorn: My point still stands, but this is still an alright fit given how both dragons and vampires are both dark fantasy creatures. Trial By Fury: On one hand, hearing this song's implementation here makes me kinda want like a samurai boss to pair this with... on the other hand, given how the 30s treated the Japanese, it's for the best that it didn't. Heatwave: A bit of a stretch, but Werner is packing heat sometimes, and in some ways, he is an easier enemy, so this placement is alright. Lockdown: I'M FIRING MY LAZAAAAAAAAAAAR!! Err... what were we talking about again? Guns Blaizng: This is just too perfect for words! No Return: Like A Mother's Love, this is quite somber for the fight it is paired with. Fever Pitch: Mmm, this is pretty good. It is somewhat vibing compared to the somewhat intense fight, but it has a sort of spooky feel. Sandstorm: Definitely less of a stretch than heatwave since this is a miniboss rush... End of the Line: ... but this somehow fits even more cause it literally is the end of the line for this fight. Afterlife: Of course Flowey's theme is paired with the last and scariest boss fight in the game, but just till we get to the DLC's finale. Final Encounter: Needless to say this mountain king is definitely less friendly than goat daddy, but still is the closest fit. Deal Em Out/Showdown: I love it, I love it, I LOVE it! I mention these two together because they are equally fitting; they're both my favorite pairings, the former being a gang, and the latter being a cowboy theme boss. I even think Deal Em Out is the closest to sounding Cuphead esque. Perfect timing on defeating Miss Winchester, by the way. Apprehension: Again, these guys are a lot less friendly than our cute birb, but this version does go harder and I think fits the most with the Aces' leader herself. Specimen Series: Ah, you actually did implement the Specimens into a few battles, and somehow you paired each one quite well into each fight. Great timing defeating the pawns, by the way. Specimen Clay: And of course, probably the most disturbing Specimen is reserved for the angel/devil fight. Best Friends Forever: Chef Saltbaker is a lot more scary than he should have any right to be, so it's fitting that he gets a song that's almost more unsettling that has any right to be.
