I enjoy the fact that the King's Leap characters represent chess pieces. The DLC is great so far!

Yep: The starting games involved the Pawns, which, though easily disposed of, are legion; then there was a Knight that, much like an actual Knight piece, made it hard to get around him (as he went in an L shape, like a horseman trying to cut off a foot soldier running on the ground); then there's the Bishop who can only move in angles; The rather straightforward Rook/ Executioner (you need to deal with him head-on); and finally, the Queen who can move in any direction she so chooses, either straight or diagonally, as many spaces as she wants, but only one direction or the other at any time (not in an L-turn like the Knight, for example). The King of Games possibly doesn't take you on because he's got a bad knee, you see (like his wife he can move in any direction, but only ONE square per turn, leaving him at a disadvantage in combat, and forcing him to be defended by his other court members, the Chess-Pieces).

She's softlocked there on me once as well. I was super annoyed that she softlocked and took an L because it wouldn't feel right if I won because of a softlock. The devs might want to look into that one...

These bosses and styles and themes are so awesome have so much classic stories and references thrown in throughout! Like how the King's Tournament seems to be a mix of Chess pieces as Medieval Characters with the dominating Matriarch Queen like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Even the chopped off head imagery is like the "Off With His Head" line that she says in the movie! Same with the executioner! And the idea for the tourney to teach you how to parry well is such a brilliant idea! :D And the classic cartoon logic of Cuphead still works its wonders and and charm. Love these boss battles! >:D

May be late to this but there is a secret boss in the graveyard. You can find out the combination by listening to the champions of the climbing competition. They may seem like they are saying nonsense to cover up “dead space” but in their speech they have a secret code in the form of directions in their order of placing.

The King's challenge actually looks really cool. A nice challenge that doesn't look or feel overly difficult. I always hate the flying stages though, as those bosses always feel the hardest, and I hate the plane's attack, as I feel it neuters the damage you could otherwise do with the weapon of your choice.
