I discovered this pretty late, before I used jump and dash to avoid the attack, but it's way easier by crouching, especially if a minion is coming at the same time :D

Congratulations! Do you have any tricks to avoid his "spell"(with the parry) in the first phase? This is the only boss remaining for me to get an S on.

The attack at 0:22? I always parry as soon as possible (the fireball in the middle is always pink) then dash to a side of the screen (depending on the minions), when the 4 remaining fireballs comes toward me I jump in the middle (where the pink fireball was) then dash and go to the other side of the screen. It worked well for me :)

I did it!!! My hands are shaking, hahaha! Oh man... That one I can avoid and also get the parry, but the other two variations of the attack are not so easy. I used peashooter and roundabout, Super 2 for the last phase and P. Sugar for his tears. If I knew that I'd get like 4-5 parries in his tears alone I'd have been more relaxed in the first phase.

any tips on how you can avoid the single poker chip in the very last phase? that's always the one that screws up my run for S rank

Not really, I'm just doing a small jump to the left/right (and parry just in case theres a tear) then back on the platform but the timing is tight. You can also try to make a bigger jump to the left/right then coming back on the platform with the dash, this way you have more time to avoid the chip.

@@dennisreynolds6196 appreciate the tip! However I have fully 100% Cuphead 4 times now, I guess you could say I got around that small issue I had with the level, haha Also tbh I don't like auto parry, I usually just save invincibility super for that last bit

If it's about ducking the arms attack, it has been fixed like 6 years ago so you can't do it anymore, see the link in description with the patch notes.
