did you notice that dance 4:00 called "Tari Ratoh Jaroh" traditional indonesian dance with custom 5 layer of colour change in 4 second with around 1600 dancer and 6:00 is the indonesian flag and all dance and performance 100% indonesian, all about tribes and culture. indonesia around 17.000 island, 300 distinct native ethnic groups and More than 742 different languages and dialects are spoken, many tribes and culture, not disneyland lol, and thats my proudly country

This video is highlight of opening ceremony asian games 2018, held in jakarta & Palembang, Indonesia. In this perfomance all 100% Indonesian people, with many culture, tribe & ethnic groups. Indonesia has 17,504 islands, 1,340 ethnic groups and 1,211 languages. But long time ago, before Indonesia became independent when it was still in Dutch colonization. nationalist youth from various islands held a "youth congress" with the aim of supporting one Indonesia as the successor of Dutch East Indies rather than being divided into several colonies. at the second youth congress on 27-28 October 1928, they declared "Youth Pledge". They proclaimed three ideals, one motherland, one nation and one language. "Youth Pledge" in English: Firstly We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one motherland, Indonesia. Secondly We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one nation, the nation of Indonesia. Thirdly We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, respect the language of unity, Indonesian. at the same time the song "indonesia raya" mean "the great indonesia" was first heard, then adopted into the national anthem during the proclamation of Indonesian. Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. They have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. The opening ceremony was opened with a ratoeh jaroe dance to greet the invited guests in attendance, involving 1600 girls from 18 Jakarta High Schools. This dance originated in Aceh, a province in Indonesia on the west end, located on the island of Sumatra. this opening ceremony has 5 segments. 1. Water theater from the Majapahit kingdom in 1293 to 1500, which unites islands with water. And this also symbolizes the greatness of Indonesia as a maritime country. 2. Earth symbolizing natural wealth and diversity of tribes in Indonesia. here displays 19 traditional dances and folk songs from several ethnic groups in Indonesia. 3. Air describes the ancestral strength and nationalism of the Indonesian people. So, this segment is not in the highlight footage that you watch. 4. Fire describes the spirit and courage of the Indonesian people. In addition, this segment is also a portrayal of victory as well as the opening of the 2018 Asian Games. 5. Energy describes the strength and diversity of young people as Asian spirit and energy. Here is enlivened by futuristic dance, ballet, hip hop, parkour, contemporary cube accompanied by the official song "Bright as the sun"

i'd like to make a correction on this statement. the dance name is RATOH JAROE (dance ratoh jaroe). Yeah. there were over 1,600 dancers involved in the act doing various Indonesian traditional dances and folk songs. A lot of efforts and time also were put to make the settings and props as well - mountain, volcano, waterfall, the ship, the moon, etc inside the stadium. It was a really grand opening. Basically the first dance is from Aceh, the first city in indonesia where islam entered. Thats why they say “assalmualaikum”. The patterns that they make ( diamond & squares) symbolizes their pattern in their traditional fabric that they use as their traditional clothing. the part where there’s ship and warriors, tells the story about Indonesia in the ancient times. Where all are united by tolerating differences through appreciating nature. Note: indonesia is the biggest archipelago country that consist of 5 island. The fish that was shown is the fish that can only be found in Indonesia. And then the singing performance is divided into 4. Earth wind fire and water. All songs are different languages (dilect), i ymyself from indonesia only understand 1 song from it. So its around 4-5 languages. We actually have hundreds of dilect languages, so this is nothing really.All are traditional songs remixed into modern. The fire part is the famous balinese dance, it symbolizes the fire thats burning in each athletes. The last performance is our hope in the future in our economy to be and innovative country. The stage was huge it was 135 x 30 meters, 26 m tall, weight about 600 Ton because it is including artificial waterfall with a real water pouring down. Don't forget also about the volcano replica as its tallest on the stage, the caldera of volcano becomes the main cauldron to lit by the torch carried by our gold medalist Olympian athlete.
