After discovering that my previous rollcage was unsafe over a year ago, I knew I had to take it somewhere reputable to get a new one put it. I got put on to Jamie at Must Weld Motorsport by a load of guys on some track pages and gave him a ring to book in the Cupra for a new cage. We decided to throw some extras on there and change the cage up a little from last time, besides actually being welded properly. Anyway, stoked the car is home and safe now, and I'm super happy with how the cage came out and how well it's been done.

Jamie did a very similar cage, seat rails and other bits in my Almera track car, he's a top lad who takes pride in his work, can't fault any of the work he did for me ✌️ Your cage looks smart and seat rails so much safer now. To answer your questions, grind the rust back, use converter (Kurust or similar) etch Primer and paint the floor. Clear coat the cage, looks so smart raw!

Good lord, it’s John again! looks and speaks at the same speed as him. So many casual digs given too😂. Cage looks mint, should paint it metallic black and add red fleck into it. Think you should get a proper shifter setup in there with a red ball ontop to match the exterior paint also!

Sand rust back, etch primer and paint - people will swear by rust converter products but if you want to test them, apply it, let it cure, and then sand it and the rust will still be there. Have you considered putting something like raptor liner on the floors (mini roller application), super tough and will give some grip when getting out, especially if it’s a wet day. Paint the cage 👍🏻

For the floor mate, I would use a wire wheel on your grinder to take it back to bare metal, and then use some sort of treatment on it, believe it or not you can use white vinegar and water 4:1, with a scotch rite pad, then I would highly recommend using some buzzweld products such as their rust converter primer and then chuck some decent primer and paint on top! I’ve used this method on my cars 👍

My opinion on what you should do next for the build would be, strip the the flooring to bare metal and fix rust then paint black or red. keep the cage the metal colour to stand out and clear vinyl wrap it to prevent scratches and damage. keep up the great work!
