The entire point of Cupra as a brand, has always been to move Seat upmarket, and replace it. This brand just doesn't make any sense otherwise, they're no longer just making "performance" cars, they're selling 150hp SUV/Crossover at this point.

@@cmcneilnz That is the marketing. What's more desirable about it? They started out as a performance brand, but they're also making "normal" cars, just like Seat before. The Cupra Leon with 150 hp is pretty much 1:1 the Seat Leon with 150 hp, just some copper trim and a higher price. It's not like Cupra has premium quality or anything.

It would be good if Seat kept the small hatchbacks and SUVs and Cupra only takes the big and powerful performance cars. Seat could be the VAG budged brand and Cupra would be the young, energetic performance brand.
