I find myself absent from the live shows, but I never miss an episode! I just ordered two Jinhao 82's and some Carbon Black ink. I love the looks of the Sailor Progear and the Pilot Heritage Custom 912, but I cannot currently justify the expense. I hope to make Commander in the Navy, which I will certainly celebrate with a Conway Stewart with the same name! Thanks for the continuing inspiration!

Great show Hemingway! I always look forward to the Tuesday night live shows. Glad to hear that you are teaching your daughter cursive; it is a shame that many schools are removing it from their curriculum. Definitely ask Tom Oddo to come back on the show. Here is a small contribution to your great KZbin channel. Here are a few suggestions of lesser talked about topics that may inspire you. 1. The Green Ink Brigade: The Green Ink Brigade refers to a phenomenon where certain ink colors, particularly green, have gained a negative reputation due to their association with eccentric or conspiracy-minded individuals. This notion can be traced back to the practice of using green ink for letters and correspondence, often filled with unconventional ideas or paranoid beliefs. While it may seem trivial, delving into the origins and cultural significance of this peculiar perception can shed light on how societal norms and prejudices develop. 2. Solo Journaling Games: Solo journaling games offer a unique way to engage in self-reflection, creative expression, and personal growth. These games, often played alone, provide prompts and scenarios designed to stimulate your imagination and encourage introspection. They can be an excellent tool for writers, artists, or anyone seeking to enhance their creativity and self-awareness. Additionally, you can even consider creating your own solo journaling game tailored to your specific interests and share it with your viewers, fostering a sense of community and creative exploration. 3. Color Names The evolution of color names across cultures provides fascinating insights into human perception, language development, and the interplay between society and visual experiences. The order in which colors are named globally is often influenced by the physiological aspects of human vision. Here are some intriguing aspects to consider: 3.1. Cultural Differences in Color Naming: Not all colors have consistent names across cultures. The existence of color terms can vary, and some cultures may have more specific or broader categorizations of color. For example, certain indigenous languages may have a limited color vocabulary compared to languages influenced by Western culture. 3.2 The Relationship Between Color Visibility and Naming: In the early stages of color naming, cultures tend to focus on colors that are easily distinguishable based on the wavelengths of light. Colors that are visually prominent and have a significant impact on daily life, such as black, white, and red, are often among the first to be named. 3.3 Changes in Color Naming Over Time: Color names can change and evolve over the course of history. One example is the color orange. In English, the distinction between red and orange as separate color categories is relatively recent. In the past, what we now call orange was often referred to as "red." The Parker Duofold "Big Red" pen, for instance, gained its name during a time when the color we now identify as orange was commonly described as red. These shifts in color naming reflect the dynamic nature of language and cultural understanding. As societies evolve and expand their vocabulary, new distinctions and terms are introduced to accurately describe the visual world around them. Exploring the evolution of color names not only offers an intriguing glimpse into cultural and linguistic history but also highlights the complex relationship between human perception, language, and the way we categorize and communicate about the world of color.

Good job, Cool Hand. There's a similar sentiment ("Curate your mind") expressed in the Bible in Proverbs: "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." (Prov. 4:23) Maybe Mary Baker Eddy (Founder of the Christian Science Church) puts it in more contemporary language when she advises, "Stand porter at the door of thought, admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, and you will control yourself harmoniously." (Pg. 392 -- "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.") I picture this in my mind as a burly, uniformed guard -- and maybe a metal detector portal -- which serve to steadfastly filter out the garbage that clutters the path to growth and harmony. Or, "Master Kan," (the cataract-plagued Sensei) who continually corrects Caine's thinking in the TV Series "Kung Fu", referring to him as "Grasshopper," because of his undisciplined thought. We all need a Master Kan sitting, legs folded, at the threshold to our minds. :)

I think if you're showing a video, you need to pause it while you are commenting, so it doesn't clash with the existing audio. Balancing the levels of audio and commentary (but not tue ambience) is good practice.

You know, sadly adjusting the volume didn’t work. I played with it after the show and it was all volume or no volume. The pause method may be the only way.
