They are the kind of chairs designed without reference to human proportion. So you end up slumped with your neck tucked in and your shoulders up round your ears, looking slouched, as your arms are lifted over the chair's arms higher than the trunk is long, the gap between seat and chairback too long

ISM large-stage presentations have been perpetually plagued with audio issues, and equally plagued with complaints about the same. The producers seem to have been utterly oblivious to the complainants down through the years. It's the easiest thing in the world to do a sound-check for one minute, sitting in the same seats the guests will sit, wearing the same mics the guests will wear.
