At 83 there's no chance I'll get back to the NG to see these a 2nd time but your wonderful talk about time spent with any masterpiece is a revelation. Thank you so much!

I only made it to minute 5 before my frustration got the better of me. Please please PLEASE show us the painting being talked about, not the person doing the talking! Lovely as she no doubt is. I experienced the same frustration recently while watching Michael Palin sharing 10 of his favourite paintings from the National Gallery - heaps of screen time for Michael and the presenter, but only glimpses of the paintings! Very hard to appreciate a painting and what's being said about it when you can't actually see it 😕

I am a little stunned by all the information shared in such a beautiful way to help me (and others) to 'see'. I now have the edge of my toe nail in the water! Thank you all so very much.

A shorter lecture might hold audience longer & detail views might also be better. Thanks to the curator for her efforts.

What a wonderful, well put together lecture. Thank you for putting this on this format for those of us who can not be there. Very informative and very intriguing. I totally love how The National Gallery goes above and beyond in putting together a phenomenal exhibition! This lecture as well as many of the other lectures have opened my eyes, and expanded my knowledge. I’m a forever fan of The National Gallery!

If any painting deserves a long, close-up look, it is this one. I saw it once many years ago, before the cleaning, if I remember correctly, and was a stop-in-your-tracks work of magnificence. Wasn't expecting that reaction from myself upon seeing it. Too bad she doesn't show us the painting and linger over it instead of herself in a darkened room with the painting off to the side.

If you want people to look at this one longer, adjusting the light vs varnish so it's more viewable up close would help tremendously

There is plenty of seating available in each gallery, as well as folding chairs for seating closer to the paintings.

Restoration studio with layers of work is amazing, boxes on entrance looks juvenile and digital cliche - next thing is mugs with Sunflowers or Starry Nights. In order to be 21 century there is no need to be derivative.

Too boring. No fact or finding of any import is brought to completion so a lay man can understand. Forget Larry,Marika and all the rest . As the Chief curator she should be able to simply state 'whats what'

ali veli many Renaissance religious paintings were painted for a particular place in a particular building, and this helps inform why they were made and how they ended up looking as they do
