I have read 4 of their books, taken their classes and I am like you Emin Uzun, I still have not ascended to DAX Master Level. And... I have studied so hard and for so long and still I am not a DAX master. I often wonder, why it is so hard... Maybe I should sleep with the books also, since the reading did not work to well : )

When shall I use union versus append? I used ''append new' before to combine two tables together.

I just know that to make the two tables "stacked' on top of each other you can use append in the edit queries ribbon. I do not know if there is an append DAX function.

+Linda Choong Ah ok, i understand now. UNION can be used on live or Directquery where Power Query is disabled. You can also use it if you want to fake “incremental downloads” or to create DAX measures. Don’t worry, you will know when you need it when you get the right user case :) /Ruth

Que bueno que empezaste a utilizar daxformatter!. Me gustaría aclararte simplemente porque comentaste lo del signo =, que si copias toda la fórmula con el nombre incluido funciona perfectamente y es más simple, o sea, en Power BI ctrl-a ctrl-c y en daxformatter ctrl-v y listo 😉. Por lo demás, muchas gracias como siempre!!

Hi, can we use row within an existing table? Say we want to do a calculation requiring data that doesn't currently exist in an existing table. Can the Row function give me the ability to add a new row to a table? Thank you

It is useful when troubleshooting dax in dax studio for example , where you want to get one value returned rather that a table.
