IMPORTANT note about DAY 4 of the 25 days of DAX Fridays! challenge. I can see how Sales= Revenue after discount made you think that revenue was before discount. I modified the definition an hour later, but it is not fair to those of you who didn't see it, so I will accept "Beverages, Confections, Meat/Poultry" as an answer too!! 🥳🥳🥳 I will change the Leaderboard in a few minutes to reflect that. Note that the solution for DAY 5 will come on Monday, I need a rest 😂😂😂 Enjoy the weekend!

Contribution, that was the key word that I overlooked, so I did not calculate any proportion. As you said at the beginning of the challenge, to understand the problem is the 50% of the solution.

I think this one was more confusing because when I think of revenue it is gross where applying a discount would be "net" revenue. Still enjoyed it though!

Yeah, wording things is tough. You never know what meaning can be derived from the same word. The glossary defined Sales/Revenue after discount to clarify.

@@CurbalEN that's after you updated the glossary. On the previous version "Revenue" explicitly said it was without discounts and "Sales" with discounts. I would suggest to count both as correct for this reason.

Ruth, hi. In Order_Details table prices are already with discount applied (just compare it with prices in table Products). So the correct formula to calculate revenue is just SUMX(Order_Details,Order_Details[UnitPrice]*Order_Details[Quantity]) and correct answer for the question is Beverages, Dairy Products, Meat/Poultry. That's why you have so many incorrect answers for this question, that are actually correct.

I don't think that's true. If you look at, for example product Chai, the unit price is 18 and on orderdetails is always 18 also for any of the different discounts. there are orderdetails with inferior prices but it's not always equal to the discount. probably the price rised.

If you look at the matrix with ProdID categoryName and Revenue contribution you will see that category Name = 1) Beverages 11.17% 2) Meat/Poultry 6.35% 3) Diary product 5.62% ?

My mistake replacing ProdId by Category ID fix the issue
