Bro! I had no idea you had this! Mad respect especially after conquering Moab 240! Amazing! I have Crohn's disease, and I never wanted my disease to stop me from doing insane things. Sounds like you have a similar story. Way to perservere bro! Nothing but mad respect for you.

This is awesome! I found out at 37 that I have AS, after 22 years of symptoms. At 40 I took up rock climbing and I'd love to do something in that realm to raise awareness.

A cure is a wonderful idea, and the goal of anyone suffering or affected by AS. But we really need to stop acting like pain medications are this taboo. This makes navigating larger obstacles even harder and can become very dangerous for otherwise stable patients. While not the answer for everyone, many find great relief and improved quality of life/function as a result, when all else has failed. With the constant barrage of media halftruthery, the patient is fighting an uphill battle when these medications prove effective. We must foster an atmosphere of understanding and support, acknowledging the differences in people and their lives that exist aside from AS (or are attempting to exist). This idealistic approach to an all too often unfortunate reality, must come to an end for everyone's safety, and organizations like this are exactly where it must start. Any medication allowing for activity/function with minimal side effect is doing its job properly.
