Wow! You were so good at getting on top of this thing. Your mother's doctors were quick to respond. You are a persistent soul. You did it, you best this thing! Yay! 🎉

Amazing story, I am glad you are alright now, but a story I know all too well as I was diagnosed in 2015 with MCC at the age of 44. The surgical oncologist said the same thing to me, after reviewing my biopsy slides and confirming MCC, he examined me on a Wednesday, turned to his nurse and said, he goes in first tomorrow. He then said to me, we are operating tomorrow morning.

My mom, age 86, just got stage 3 merkel cell carcinoma diagnosis yesterday. It appeared on her back-left calf. It was biopsied and confirmed. Then they did a PET scan. There was “activity” in lymph node in groin, same leg. Yesterday we got the stage 3 diagnoses. Problem is, with all of her other health issues, only Radiation on both areas is recommended. I imagine the rest of her life will be trying to use scanning and radiation to keep it at bay. She doesn’t want to travel out of Kentucky for any possible immunotherapy trials. It’s a quality of life choice. We are awaiting the appointment with radiology oncologist. Thank you for sharing your experience. Today is Sept 17, 2021.

Really interesting. I hope you’re doing well. I’d heard of Merkel Cell Carcinoma (I’m interested in cancers in general). I was an MSKCC patient many years ago (breast cancer). Thank you for this informative video.

My mom was just informed that she has MCC and in the same location. But she wants to go with Dr. Thomas N. Seyfried approach? Basically treat the cancer as a metabolic disease. There seems to be some info out there that sounds promising, but it's like information overload and with MCC you don't seem to have a lot of time to deal with it. Thanks for the post so glad to hear some good outcomes with this, because with everything I have been observing, well it doesn't look very good. God bless.

My dad survived MCC IN 2014 age 89. He was cleared free of cancer after one year of removing the downstream lymph nodes that were not cancerous and then he did targeted radiation and chemo for a year. He did really well. I’m so sorry but it can be cured. This was just simply Pensacola Florida no research program or anything. There is no reason for anyone to die. 2014.
