I'm in my teenage years and I just found out about them months ago because my neighbor's dad played "The Night Owls" while i was eating. Upon hearing the song, I immediately stood up and took my phone to ask google song recognition "what song is currently playing right now". I really loved that song on the first listen and that's why I decided to dig up on their albums and releases... This band is definitely GOAT!🤘 They have awakened my Musician self!!!

An excellent song with a great, soulful arrangement. LRB was so cool - on par with Steely Dan, Crosby, Stills and Nash (Young ) and The Eagles. I remember when Dave Briggs joined LRB and he played a 410-HD Music Man amp - I got one too!

Thanks for this Graeham. I'm a Producer here in the US. We spoke through email a few years ago about LRB's vocal production and your harmony tips and mix ideas were very valuable to me. I wish there was some way you guys could come back to the US to tour as BSG. Don't worry about the name, we all know the story. Real fans know who you are!
Still love listening to these wonderful tunes! Thank you! LRB is what made me want to replace my turntable system. I have so many of these albums! FABULOUS!!!!

I visited my dad last week and amongst the Steve Vai, Brahms, and Wagner we heard that evening we also listed to an LRB hits disk I found in his CD collection. so I', going on another LRB lick again. He raised us on classical but someone he worked with him introduced him to LRB and in the week on the cusp of 1978and 1979 we listened to a recording of Sleeper Catcher a lot during the 1st time we visited the cabin in winter; it has no electricity and we just used a memo tape player (even thought the tape was in stereo) Within months we were all familiar with the 1st album and the North American version of Diamantina Cocktail as well. I've often told people that LRB where similar to Queen, and although not as technical and layered in the studio, the music of LRB was more modern and contemporary and actually holds up as approachable progressive and sometime even hard rock, NOT the melody country pop as it's so often mischaracterized as. LRB also uses the same vocal tactics in the studio as Queen and also sings harmonies live the way Queen did with Freddie Mercury singing the lower harmony parts as Shorrock does to save his voice; You're the Roger Taylor of the live vocal arrangements: Top. When I 1st played my mom Passion and Warfare by Steve Vai in 1990 she said "some of it sounds like LRB". I don't think a bigger compliment is possible in all of rock music. Thanks for the music, the memories, and for posting this video.
