I live in a small farming community in Iowa. Time and time again I have seen neighbors show up to help bring in crops....for a family who suffered some loss. The families don't call anybody they don't ask their neighbors it's just the neighbors paying it forward knowing that someday they may need help and someone will be there for them. It's not charity it's not a debt to be repaid It's just neighbors an family stepping up paying it forward! Hans I have greatly enjoyed the episodes that you appeared in 4 Curiosity Inc. You've given me many smiles as I've followed the family on their KZbin journey.Thank you for all that you do!

I think that charity is not something bad. We should get rid of that stigma. It's just compassion, empathy and kindness from people that thinks it is well spent on a subject that touch them.

I donated $50. So far it's $5,731 out of a $5,000 goal in an hour! I hope it gets to $10,000. The poor help the poor! I remember as kids we had sleeping bags on the floor because of no heat and my mother crying. Finally, she called her sister who came got us. NO one should risk sleeping in a unheated house. Freezing to death is not an option.

I did not know he went through one winter already with no heat and therefore possibly no hot water on tap either. I am surprised he is still alive and well- it is impossible to comprehend how cold it gets and how long the winters can be here in Canada. A little over a year ago, I was in a horrible place financially. I couldn't afford to have my car repairs so I had to park half a mile from my house or they would tow it; I couldn't come up with rent money, and I was literally days away from eviction. I was working three jobs and it just wasn't helping. Then, I had several people show me some kindness and now I'm in a better place where I can actually afford my apartment again. That being said, I promised those who helped me that I would Pay it Forward as soon as I was able to. I am happy to donate a little something to make Hans warmer this winter. No one should be cold - ever. We love you Hans. ❤️

It was an unbelievable feeling - to be so low you can't see an end to the hardship, and then to be assisted by the kindness of others to get you back on the right path. A true roller coaster of emotions. You take the small things for granted until you are at risk of losing it all. Giving to Hans was truly cathartic, and I'm so, so happy to be able to do it. Giving of yourself to help people get life's necessities can't be measured. I look forward to the news that Hans has settled into his new home. 💗

Just donated though I couldn't figure what it would be in Canadian dollars! It would be awesome if there was enough to buy the makings for a new house that could be built - barn raising style - by a load of skilled people willing to give their time for free. Making timber houses seems so much quicker than brick or stone. Austin Tischler is working on a super duper passive house at the moment, it's going to be so warm and sustainable, he could advise on how to make the best of what can be raised. Hans has some land so that's a good start. Main thing....we need to fund enough that some home insurance is included in the package!!
