My husband used to have our kids and whichever friends were at the house help him do any yard work, cleaning, dump runs etc, and the boys without dads living in their homes have thanked him for teaching them how to be a real father. Keep giving kids the training.

Regarding the Wonder Bread, many years ago National Geographic magazine had an article where a landfill/dump from the 1970s was excavated. A perfectly-preserved loaf of Wonder Bread was found. I always jokingly say "It's a 'wonder' that it's bread."

I am glad you help people instead of throwing everything away. I've been homeless and know how it feels to not have basic needs. It's our slow season at work so I've gone without and just started getting back on my feet from being homeless. Keep blessing people and God will continue to bless you.

Wow, Amanda that’s really great. Congratulations. It’s been snowing here for days. I live some miles to the west of Alex so can’t imagine being homeless in this town. So keep on and we’d like to her how you are doing. It’s tough out there. 🏆🏆🏆
@loukatme2 Жыл бұрын
@Cate7451 thank you so much. As much as I love the snow I work outside. I have worked outside when it's -4°F but i had to tell my boss i can't work when its that cold (i work with metal and cant wear gloves to do the work i do) and when I don't work I don't get paid, so I haven't been able to pay my bills much less get food most of the time, unfortunately. Its great when the weather is good but I didn't have money saved up since I was homeless not long before this job. I do appreciate having a place now, a job, and I was able to help some people before our slow season but I wasn't able to help as much as I wanted. Maybe once the weather is better and work picks up I can help more.

A lady friend of mine once told me something wise. She said if you don't take care of yourself first then you're no good to the people and the animals that need you (I have some retired racehorses and a dog). She went on to say don't let yourself drown or you can't be of service to anyone. So i guess what she was saying is it's not selfish to provide for yourself first because you can continue to help others if you are provided for. Keep that in mind and best wishes going forward.

Very good segment. Heartwarming to see you so giving and willing to help others. There is so much greed and selfserving in the world today, you and your family are a breath of fresh air. I just think he had a younger son who moved away. Maybe went to live in another country for school or work. Half the stuff looks like it belongs to an older outdoorsman and the other half looks like it belongs to a teenager or twenty-something person.
