For once, I am excited about seeing a collection of old toys. I am 77 y/o, so the toys are my memories. Please, Alex, try to show us some girl toys, like the doll house pots and pans. I spent hours playing with my doll house from the '50's. My mom saved it for me, so I still have it. Alas, no original doll furniture. But years later, my parents bought me lots of little replica items for my doll house. This toy journey is going to be so much fun. ❄️❄️☃️❄️❄️☃️❄️❄️

Yayyyy another new series!!! It’s so much fun discovering new treasures with you. I just imagine my father playing with toys like this when he was a kid. It’s like I’m opening each item with you, thank you for not rushing through the boxes ❤
@urbanurchin59302 жыл бұрын
......But ! ..... I find it maddening that he will pick up an item three or four times before actually taking it out of the box and looking at it. Also, unwrapping an item and leaving the paper in the box - creating unnecassary clutter. I know he has been doing this for a long time and sometimes gets excited about the "next treasure" but - in my mind - I would try to be as efficient as possible.....pick up an item ONCE - figure out the sorting - come back later for further examination and valuation.

Good to see the tables and bins out for the sort! Another thing I use, when I expect a number of items to be the size of baseballs (and smaller) is a stack of boxes about the size and shape of copy paper box lids. It’s easy to dump out all the baggies and cups full of odds and ends into a box lid and sift them around like panning for gold. I keep several dozen on hand and use them to sift and sort, then re-use them for the next sort. It’s also safer, in case there are needles, broken glass or loose razor blades/utility knife blades among the smalls.
@brianhenry23852 жыл бұрын
Cookie tray works good too. From there auction lots can be made up. I use cookie trays for dealing with old hardware junk bins, since they don’t puncture the way cardboard can.

Alex, I’m so glad you sold the shop! Ever since you did, we get to see these kinds of discoveries. I was *just* thinking, “wouldn’t it be cool if the next box was full of special set asides??” And it was! Then drinking guy toys, oh my! I was born 1954. I didn’t have toys like these. After all I was a girl. (Sadly I barely liked dolls or Barbies and would have played forever with Tinker Toys and my brothers race car tracks!!) But the materials, design and colors are exactly as I remember them. And now you’re taking a boxful inside to sort. YeHA!!
