Fascinating time and event. There was also much happening there re:Civil Rights. Frederick Douglas, Ida B. Wells, to name two of the luminaries. Also there was a huge dose of orientalism, and display of (often captive) dark-skinned people as oddities. It is was also the year when foreign expansionism was in full force, thus the dehumanizing human 'displays' which shaped the zeitgeist of the nation. All this is super intriguing and in many's eyes, well worth learning.

Little did the residents and visitors at the 1893 World's Fair realize that the first and one of the most brutal serial killers was walking amongst them, searching for his next victim.....H.H. Holmes.

Why are there no pictures of buildings in the process of construction? All the pictures only show completed buildings, with what looks like scaffolding drawn into the photos.
