My mamma Beagle used to bring in frogs. They weren't hurt, and when I caught her bringing them in; their legs would be hanging out of her mouth. She never hurt them and I would have to take them back outside. She looked so funny carrying them around, poor frogs. 🐸

Oh how precious! That’s a baby Gopher tortoise. They are protected here in Florida. Gopher tortoises are endangered in Florida due to habitat loss from human development. Gopher tortoises nest from late April to mid-July, laying clutches of 5-9 eggs. Only about 25% of eggs hatch in the wild, and only 10% of hatchlings survive their first year. Hmmm... roasted turtle is perhaps a snack that is way to crunchy. Another thing is that the sex of a turtle (as far as I know) is determined by the temperature in which the egg is being brooded). But with a bit of training - the property could be protected as a natural habitat?
