ThunderCats is among the best cartoons of the 80s, alongside He-man and Transformers. You may not have noticed it at the time, but the animated TV series had some very unusual details for children, and that perhaps only an adult eye will notice.
The cartoon introduced kids to iconic characters like Lion-O, the nunchaku wielding Panthro, Cheetara, and Tygra. The villains on the animated series were equally as memorable, particularly the malevolent evil sorcerer Mum-Ra. Even the opening theme of ThunderCats was catchy and cool.
