After reading your comments, I noticed, as well, that some mass-market cards look less saturated or washed out, but this is not the case off-camera. In fact, some of the mm cards look more saturated at times (off-camera). Sometimes the mm cards look more defined. So, I wonder if this is a reflection issue? I don't know what else to think. I'm not sure why they look this way in the video. It almost makes me question my vision. 😳🙃 I may have to do another side-by-side video from a different camera angle. Thank you everyone for your comments. Most helpful!

I see advantages in either edition. I think I like the indie a little more because of the size, borders, and saturation of colors. The gold is better in some cards than others, but I definitely don't need it. I think soaping the indie deck will solve some of the stickiness of the rose petal finish. I really appreciate these comparisons, especially when both editions are still available.

I've enjoyed the indie deck but look forward to working with the mass market more over the next few weeks. Mostly because of the linen finish. Also, even though some of the mm cards look less saturated on camera, I don't find this to be the case off camera. Which makes me think it is a reflection issue. Let me know what you think of yours. 😊

The dpi resolution looks better at least on camera in the indie deck, but maybe this is the texture of the paper and the way it reflects on the linen finish. Too bad they did not make the images larger on the mm deck, but nice guidebook.

I found that odd too...since the cards are larger. 🤷♀️

Thanks for sharing this. I'm still waiting for my mass market copy to arrive. I've enjoyed the indie for a long time now. I guess one could always trim the US Games one if they don't like the size of the borders. I'm so glad they kept the font and the gold accents.

I love my indie deck. 🩷 I have pondered trimming the mass market deck down...if I keep it. If you think of it, let me know if you see any color differences when you get the us games edition. Side by side...I did not see a huge color variation. I only see it now, through the video. There are times the mass market looks more saturated to me. I am wondering if the linen finish just doesn't film well? IDK.

I am waiting for mine too. Now I'm wondering if I should order the indie deck before it's gone.

@@ZoeZoeZoeeee If I had to choose...I wouldn't be able to part with my indie deck, but the book linen finish contributes to the mass market edition. And I do believe that some of the mm cards look washed out due to the reflection...if this is a concern.

Thank you very much for this review. I wanted this when it first came out on Kickstarter but they didn't ship to Canada at the time and I've been eagerly waiting for the mass market release ever since. To my disappointment, this deck is still not available in Canada right now. But hoping it will be soon. I'm even more excited after seeing this review!

Are you able to get the mass-market edition in Canada?
@melaniejayne4144 ай бұрын
You might not be able to see the color differences, but through the screen its very clear. The mass market looks likes its been through a cheap photocopier, the color are washed out. The indie is far more beautiful.

I wonder if that is just because of the linen finish.

@@TrioofWitchesTarot Yes I wondered that too. The cards with black in the background look like a solid black in the Indie and then speckled in the MM. The lions mane in the Indie is beautiful and then so meh in the MM. Im lucky I have the Indie. I get disappointed that nearly every Indie to MM conversion has had bad careless choices made that unnecessarily degrade the beauty of the deck. I think these companies would be better off making less changes to already great decks.

Oddly, they didn't look washed out when I was looking at them. In fact, some of the mm cards looked even more saturated. Now that I'm looking at the video, I see what you mean. But I'm wondering if this is a reflection issue with the linen finish? This is going to bug me.

@@Tarottidbits That would be really good for all the people who buy the MM edition if it's just a reflection issue. I can see how that could happen, if the camera is viewing the cards at a different angle then you were with your own eyes. Like the Baba studio decks, from some angles the cold stamping is not even visible.

@@melaniejayne414 I need to do another side-by-side walk-thru and look at the cards from different camera angles. Thank you for pointing it out in the first place. I appreciate it.
