I live minutes away from Harper’s ferry and this town is absolutely beautiful! At night it is definitely creepy and I’ve done many paranormal investigations resulting in some evidence. It’s mostly EVP’s that we can’t debunk. St. Peter’s church is definitely haunted and if you walk up the hill by the church there is a very old cemetery where you will feel like your being followed. Thank you for doing an episode on our treasured lil town!

Great story and history lesson. A little disappointing though to hear that the ghost of the fiery John Brown disappears when approached. He had so much to say when alive, it would be interesting to hear his thoughts now.

Spent two Christmases at a cottage up the street from St. Peters. I was familiar with the spirits you described but most people don't know about them, so it's nice that you made this video. I find the place charming and it definitely has it's own vibe. We only live 25 miles away but it truly is a place to stay and experience, it's not like Martinsburg so we enjoyed our holidays in Harpers Ferry very much.

One of the hostages that Brown and his men abducted was George Washington’s grand nephew Lewis, I believe. I believe he shouted to Lt. Jeb Stuart and Col. Robert E. Lee from inside the armory where he was held “attack and wipe them out!”. To which Lee later reacted something like “The Revolutionary blood does tell.”

My 11 year old grandson is a history buff, so I took him to Harpers Ferry in 2022, he walked the path up to the famous rock, and on his way back took his phone to shoot video where the ruins of that old church sets up the hill from the church currently there, he was fanning his camera around trying to take it all in, and when we listened to the audio, a loud whisper called out Hey Aedie, my grandsons name is Aedan, we call him Aedie for short. He had no clue anything was around him, didn't get spooked at all, and this happened in the daylight, around 4 30. We'd definitly do it again, but need more than just a day to explore. This year, 2023, we went to DC, Harpers Ferry is far less crazy than DC.

Many, many years ago a very young Ronald Reagan appeared in a film about the Harpers Ferry incident - and it was a pretty good film, too. Ironically, the first person to die in Brown's rebellion was actually a black railroad worker, shot down as he walked the tracks doing his job!

A little help . General Lee? I've been studying the civil war for over forty five years. First he's a colonel. Then he's a major. Now he's a lieutenant colonel. I want the truth at harper's ferry was he or Was he not a major?
@CuriousHistoryYT

For me the rank of Robert E Lee gets muddied because of the timing of Harpers Ferry. Technically speaking, Lee’s rank was Brevet Colonel, the rank bestowed upon him after the Mexican American War. Some sources list him this way, others list him as Lieutenant Colonel, and still others just use Colonel.

Last spring my husband and I were looking for a new home; to take us closer to his work in Baltimore and DC (we were living in VA, but looking in VA, MD & WV). We found a house we fell in love with [from pictures] in Harper's Ferry. Unfortunately it needed way too much work on the inside (and there was little inventory there) so we end up buying in Winchester instead. I am still in love with Harper's Ferry and have a wee bit regret for not jumping on the house that needed work! It's absolutely gorgeous out there and still hope one day we can move/build a home there. We're extremely close though so can visit often! I love dark, moody, haunted, paranormal things!
