Hehe, would be interesting to see a 'living' fossil mammal like the Giant Beaver, but if the Giant Beaver is like today's beavers then you would definitely notice the deforestation and dams since a bigger beaver would need more food and a larger pond and lodge! The beginning talking about something in the water that grabs lines made me think of Sturgeon...

I’m looking at pictures of the largest beaver ever caught and what I seen in the fox river in northern Illinois is 5 to 6 times bigger than any photo of any Beaver that’s on the Internet

What I seen in Northern Illinois was five or six times bigger than any Beaver I see on the Internet. The only thing is I’m not sure it was a beaver because I didn’t have the pancake tail but it was the size of a medium size beer and had the head of a beaver.

I live in Canada and I saw a giant beaver at 2 a.m. on the road in the city slapping its tail on the road . Animal control was circling it and I was just in shock at how big it was , it was the size of a black bear

I saw a extremely large giant one in oregon near Beavercreek back in 1993 and had witnesses with me but the given size no one believed me though it charged us cause we came too close
