Tom Cora pulled music out of his cello that was absolutely gorgeous. He was a wonderful part of Curlew...in itself a crazy, wild, totally fun group of ace musicians. Really, really nice to find them here...thanks for posting!

Smoking. They were a great band, and (so what else is new...) should've gotten a lot more recognition at the time.

I can appreciate this comment, Felipe, though perhaps my sense of what constitutes art is a bit broader than the limits you put on it. I do like being challenged and find the most profound artistic experiences to come from such places. One of the reasons I enjoy free improv is exactly because of the spontaneity you celebrate. That spontaneity can lead many directions - sometimes to places of ecstasy, sometimes to complete breakdown of communication. That's what makes it so thrilling.

you are, of course, credited appropriately on the DVD, Bob

This Knitting Factory performance is a rippin' show (almost 90 minutes). It was difficult to select one piece for posting here to announce the re-release. The DC Space performance which adds Amy Denio on voice in one set (there are two 30 minute performances from this show also on the DVD) is also quite impressive.

btw, I consider Curlew structured improv. That said, I've experienced some of the members of Curlew in other solo or group situations inspiring me to those moments of free-improv unpredictability & ecstasy.

1. You seem like a fun and easy going guy 2. Who calls Curlew Free-Jazz? 3. Why should Cuneiform be confined to releasing only Free-Jazz? 4. Why should Mujician care what else Cuneiform releases if they are happy with their relationship with Cuneiform? 5. I ALWAYS had a great time at Curlew shows 6. Haven't you got something better to do than troll here? 7. Why don't you find a Mujician video and repost your first comment there? Makes a lot more sense.

Mujician: don't ever listen to someone who writes their posts entirely with the caps lock key on. ;)
